Thank you, Mr.
Heckler
, for sparing me the time needed to write a polite reply. Now please allow me...
1) Test dummies are a crappy test of your actual DPS. Dots do not work properly and more importantly test dummies do not move. Very rarely do you come across fights where movement is a nonissue (read: never)Yes, sure, that is why they were put into the game and why everybody uses them. Because they are useless. Mhm.
2) You didn't list the actual duration which can change the data considerably.Math is haaaard.
Phew
.
3) There are different attack tables for different level mobs as you know, hence attacking a level 80 dummy is not giving you proper data for the only time it matters, in a raid.Yes, I know that.
Stop being defensive then please get back to me.
OK
. It was a month and a half ago, my gear was from Ulduar 25/10 at best. And it was our first attemp / kill of the Twins. I'll make sure and record some results this evening (I have ToC 25 scheduled with my guild) and I'll get back to you tomorrow. You can see my current gear on armory (my signature).

Back for Mr.
aForgottenTome
with two 'real life' boss screenshots - some very fast kills in a heroic Violet Hold a couple of days ago:
1 - Cyanigosa
7053 DPS
, lasted 36 seconds;
2 - Zuramat the Obliterator
8293 DPS
, lasted 25 seconds - Mangle appears 5 times there because I used it more in the end to fill up my CPs for a second FB faster before the boss died.
The only actual DPS buffs I had were Trueshot Aura (+10% AP) and +40 agility food.

General Vezax anyone? Our guild puts up some CD's when he surges and melee can just sit there doing DPS
Ok since this got me stirred up: Grand Widow Faerlina, Noth the Plaguebringer, Loatheb, Instructor Razuvious, Patchwerk, Grobbulus, Gluth, Thaddius, Kel'Thuzad, Sartharion, Ignis the Furnace Master, Razorscale, XT-002 Deconstructor, Kologarn, Auriaya, Thorim (when he descends into the arena), General Vezax, Gormok the Impaler, Twin Val'kyrs, Anub'arak are
ALL
bosses where movement
should not
be an issue regarding DPS uptime.
A.K.A.
If movement causes DPS downtime for someone on those bosses, then that someone is doing something wrong.

Generally I would agree with that, but on some of those fights RNG can bite you in the
a
ss.
Examples:
KT: getting MC'ed (I even had occassions where I got MC'ed twice while tanking adds in the same fight, not healthy) and even getting frozen or running away from fissure. Not much, but still.
XT-002: getting lightbomb and gravity bombs. Especially gravity bomb, as melee with light bomb just move to the other leg normally.
Kologarn; eye beams (had beams on me twice
while offtanking
, that was fun)
Faerlina: not entirely sure about this one, but when she does rain of fire on the melee, I think the melee normally has to move. However, my guild never did this, just zerged her, so no idea if it was actually meant to be that way...
That's about it I believe. Some fight also require you to take down adds, but that shouldn't really damage your dps...

More DPS examples for Mr.
AForgottenTome
-
9925 DPS
@ Twin Val'kyrs
(it was one of those 'bad hair days' for our guild, where some people just couldn't focus enough to get a kill Q.Q but still this sample should be enough to get another idea about 'real raid environment' compared to test dummy training)
