Post your favorite L2P moment...either where you were the one feeling like a noob, or when someone else was.
First example: My 33 warrior goes to STV to collect the Troll tusks for his armor quests and, of course, gets ganked 15 or so times by level 80 alliance up near the Nessingwary camp (That's what it's there for, after all, for Horde and Alliance to play 'Gank me gank you' for hours at a time) so, by the time my backpack is full of loot and its time for a selling/bank run, I'm in a foul mood. I flit down to booty bay, and spot a level 3(!) human hanging around at the bank. OK, I know the guards are gonna whack me quick, but in the mood I'm in, it's worth a corpse run, so I charge/smackdown the little goober.
Now here's where it gets funny. A level 80 comes riding up on a Mechano-hog and starts whining that I killed his alliance alt. I explain that I'm in a bad mood, and that he can't expect to bring a level 3 Alliance to Booty Bay without someone occasionally swatting it like a bug....kinda like the alliance 80s versus a 33.
Now HE starts telling ME that I should expect to get ganked on a PVP server and should leave his alt alone, and that he just used the alt to "put a hit out on me", telling the alliance in the zone to "Gank you on site" (SIC)
I guess some players just don't understand the irony of QQing about having their semi-illegal (or at least frowned upon) use of a cross-faction alt Spanked for being in an area way too high level for them.
Boo Hoo...cry me a river.

Well yesterday I was in shadowmoon and this priest and their hunter friend trys to gank me, I was in flight form already so I easy fly away. I heal up and realize there chasing me. So I go to a floating rock and sure enough the priest and hunter land and proceed to kill me. I was hoping for this, so I typhooned the priest off the edge of the cliff (it was one of the ones floating over nothing on the edge of the zone) Then I shadowmeld and fly away from the hunter.
then I went to where they tryed to gank methe first time. They stood on a tower above the netherwing guards. I was there waiting for them. Sure enough this time they attack me because I'm on top of a tower and even if I shoot them off they wont die from falling dmg. Anyways they attack me and I shoot the priest off again. No problem right? Nope the guards are neutral so if you attack someone then the guards will attack you. Sure enough The ganker is running from me with 5 or 6 level 70 elites attacking them.
Anyways I lol'ed at them a few times and went my way, they left me alone from then on.

I'm going to embarrass myself with this one, but it is true.
I have a warrior alt. I never did anything except level as Arms. I get to howling forge, and start pickig up tanking gear. I'm thinking, ok, while i'm questing, if anyone needs a tank, I'll tank one of the early instances.
So I get an invite. I throw on my new 'tanking' gear. I go do my respec even.
Get into the instance
Pull first mob...
"Your skill in 1 handed swords has increased to 1"
"Your skill in 1 handed swords has increased to 2"
I felt soooo bad for wasting everyone's time.

"Your skill in 1 handed swords has increased to 2"
It wasn't Northrend, but when leveling my first character (warrior tank), was running Sunken Temple when the
Blade of the Wretched
dropped and immediately swapped to it because of how cool it was.
Got to test my skills with just using only
Thunder Clap
and
Taunt
to keep Dreamscythe and Weaver off the group...

I'm slightly confused. Your saying that you were speaking with a player from the opposite faction? how? when?
Now I've played on both a PVP and PVE server, leveling toons from 1-80, and not once recall having the ability to chat with the opposite faction....
perhaps I'm mistaken, but i'm sniff'n something here >,>
me too.
To clarify, the level 80 on the mechano hog was Horde faction, and his "bank alt" was Alliance faction. He admitted to having two accounts, and was whining that I killed his little alliance character.
The funny part was, he was telling ME not to say I was in a bad mood for getting ganked, when HE was the one whining about me ganking his alt.

I remember when my friend got wow, it looked awesome. Almost a year later I got my first account, i was very exited. Before getting the acc, I would check talent calc, proffesions - all that stuff that would help me make a really good char. I thought that orcs were cool, so I made one. I had decided that they had the best racials too. An orc warrior, arms specced, BS and mining,
always
wearing axes (cuz it was the best for orcs, no matter what other weapon I got...).
Then when I had reached around the lvl when you can do RFK, I got a nice group. I used my axe made from BS and battle-stance. Then a guy suddently asked, "Hey man, where's your shield?". I replyed "I don't have a shield, I'm arms and shield sucks."
Then he said, "Omg, noob! You can't tank without a shield!" I said that it was my first char and that I didnt know what tanking ment. He said he was sorry, and that he didnt know that. Anyway, i continued with the instance, and we succesfully killed the last boss, I even got to kill the guy in there for the warrior quest.
Another funny thing happened in RFK: Corpse maker dropped, an excellent weapon. But the icon of it looked like a pole arm (pole arm specialization from talent calc), so "of course" pressed greed of the "pole arm", but luckily i got it anyway! Later when I checked my bag, I saw the axe icon on the weapon, I became very happy! :)
With over 4 years of playing WoW, I feel like I know all of it, even if I never got 60 before BC (lol, I was quite slow att lvling then ^^) or have played any of the high tbc raids except Kara, nor have I gotten any high rank in arena (still pvp is what makes WoW fun, I love it).
I'm quite all-round educated. :D

While me and my paladin friend were 76-77, we were attacked in a ganking attempt in Scholazar Basin by an 80 druid, 76 DK, and a 78 rogue. We schooled them all. And then followed them around ganking them for an hour. It was quite hilarious.
I've fallen prey to this type of stuff before, though. Going AFK in the middle of a contested zone, not on a flying mount way up, getting pwnd and having to run back once I get back.
Also, leaving quest items on my action bar from a quest that required no killing, but using items over and over - forgetting about it and doing a heroic. "WHERE'S MY F***ING DoTs!"
I just flip my action bar. I use an alt modifier to flip my action bars, then hit the hotkey for the quest item, then alt+1 back to my regular bar.

I ran out of ammo, having forgotten to refill myself after the UP and not having checked to see how much I had left before we started. At almost the same time, one of the other dps disconnected. Needless to say, we did not get timed.
I have never made an ammo-related mistake since.
The magic bow of infinite ammo
is your friend! Learning bow skill is well worth the cost/delay savings on long raids.

Of course, with the new "Quest item icon in the tracker list" you no longer need it on your AB at all.
