I think one of the reasons is the stat difference and the fact that even these will do 10% less damage if you have a 2h in the other hand. And a fast off-hand will not generate more rage, I do not know the difference, but 2h weapon will always generate more white damage (if it is on generally the same ilevel) and therefor more rage.

Sometimes I get the notion that maybe equipping a fast offhand weapon is also a good idea since it will generate more white damage which means more rage.
Well, it doesn't generate more white damage. A twohander has more DPS on it - just check your own examples. It doesn't hit quite as often as a onehander, but it hits much harder, and overall does more white damage and thus generates more rage. A onehander would tend to make the rage generation smoother though, but that's far from enough to justify using one.
Edit: Whoops, autoattack isn't normalized :P

TO make rage regeneration smoother with two 2h with the same speed you could unequip one at the beginning and equip it after 1-2 sec. you should not lose to much dps this way and it will be easier to keep rage from jumping from 30 to 100.

Dual butcher and edge has diferent speeds so that's pretty pointles.
1-handed weapons produce les rage then 2-handers and have les stats.
Al in al, pretty pointles and if you need on one-handed DPS weapons your nothing more then a ninja in my book.
Les rage, les stats, les damage.

I hope my analogy makes sense...
I tend to think that sometimes its like
Boxing
. Using two haymakers (2hd weap) is strong and does huge damage but if you replace one haymaker with a jab (1hd weapon) then you get to hit it multiple times and sets it up for the main punch.
... did it make sense?
except that in your case, you want to tie a feather pillow to your jab hand...
a fast 1H OH will do less damage, generate less rage, have fewer stats, and make your WW hit softer.

Dude seriously,
If you read and understood what I was saying I'm just trying to find out from people like you if using a 1hd will be as good or even better. I've seen that the consensus has been that 2hd on the offhand spot is still the best option. The group I've been raiding with has come to the point that 1hd weapons like Blood fury & Hellscream slicer or any other weapon like it are being dis enchanted or being rolled to vend so if I roll on it that doesn't make me a ninja because I'm not taking it from someone who needs it.
You know pretty damn wel I was talking in general.
A warrior uses 2-handers, 1-handers are dead and I regret this hugely being fury since I did Karazhan al the way to SWP.

Let's take a look at
Whirlwind
. If you notice, the tooltip says that it does
weapon damage
with both weapons. Look at the weapons you posted. Both of the 2H axes have higher base damage than the 1.5 axe, and the MAX damage of the 2.6 axe is only slightly higher than the BASE damage of the Edge of Ruin.
Plus the twohander will get more damage from attack power due to normalization.

Yeah, good point. But was the rest of my math/logic correct?
Yes. The attack power (and other stats) from the offhand weapon is not affected by it being wielded in the offhand, so the difference there is as calculated. The weapon damage difference wasn't calculated, and would be changed by stuff like the TG debuff and other things anyway. It should still be easy to see that the twohander will do far more damage. Rage generation will be more spiky, but overall definitely higher.
