Fade and its use in PvP.

I have wondered for a while now whether or not fade could have its uses in PvP... and perhaps it does..!
Can anyone confirm if fade is useful to use against hunters, locks and priests..?
I was attacked not too long ago by a priest who decided to use Shadow Fiend on me for some mana regen, although I used Fade which, to my surprise, made his pet run back to his side...!
Does this work for all pets? - Does this make it so you are then not targeted by anyone who has selected you? - Could be handy if you are being attacked but cannot see your attacker.. Might buy you a couple of seconds..
Needs confirmation!
thanks,

This upsets me..
But inspires at the same time.. Maybe Fade should be improved to allow the Priest to litrally disappear for 5 seconds, though allowing movement,.. This would give the priest (me!) a better chance of survival whilst fear is on CD.

The only reason I can imagine that fading would have gotten the pet off of you was if it was set to agressive. Since the AI is choosing targets for the pet, I guess it might switch off to someone who had higher threat than you.
If the pet was specifically commanded to attack you, fade wouldn't do anything.

I have always felt that Fade and Taunt need to have uses in PvP. Fade should force someone targeting the priest to lose their target, making it useful for interrupting abilities but not entirely overpowering, especially if people make a target last target macro. Taunt should force a switch of target to the person that used it (not sure if I would want the Paladin taunt to work though since it works on multiple targets).

Here's a little tip, since "taunt in PvP" has come up multiple times in this thread: Taunt works perfectly on non-passive pets in PvP. This means, for example, a tank can taunt a pet immediately before intentionally stepping on a freezing trap to cause the pet to break it (the taunt overrides the pet's AI).
I will attempt to do some testing with Fade tonight, and see if I can't figure out how it affects pet/guardian AI.
Edit: Shoot, forgot I was searching through old threads, didn't mean to revive a dead thread. Sorry, I'll attempt to get some solid data to justify the revival.
