expertise is like haste, it s a nice stat to have, but you dont lose dps w/o it.
expertise is nothing like haste. attacking from behind, you have a ~6.5% chance to miss. you will need 26 expertise skill to negate that - note that weapon mastery will give you 2% reduction in dodge, so you only need to show 4.5% in your character panel if you are arms.

expertise soft cap (can't be dodge) = 6.5% All melee should hit this as bosses can dodge from any angle
expertise hard cap (can't be parried) = 14% mainly important for tanks as they're always attacking the boss head on (beyond 14% is of no extra benefit)

Expertise is like the hit cap, YOU NEED IT.
Imagine instead you went for nothing but expertise, you got to 6.5% reduction and your capped. Would someone say that hit is worthless just because its not on gear as much? No.
Both are very vaulable, and you need both.

I had to lol at the comment saying you don't lose any dps by ignoring expertise...I'm sure doing 5002 damage will yield better dps than having that 5000 damage swing connect instead of being dodged or parried.

Parry is never an issue for
properly
dpsing warrior.
Parry no... but what about that 6.5% dodge that still comes into play?

How does a properly DPSing warrior keep Auriaya from parrying?

What is your point in making this comment? Merely harping on his use of the word "never"?

The fights you can't dps from behind are so few that it may not be worth stacking another 7.5% expertise to not be parried but the original
6.5% is a MUST
for all melee and will help reduce your chance of being parried while making you un-dodge-able. Then again with all the itemization nowadays gear is bound to have some invested in it whether you intentionally gear for it or not.

I'm sorry I was right. I'll try to be wrong more often.

A properly DPSing warrior attacks Auriaya from behind, watches DBM, and steps in front for the Sonic Screech.
Next question?

The next series of questions: How does he avoid Auriaya parrying while he is in front of her? Does he chance it by only jumping in front just before the cast, potentially leaving the people in front of her to take extra damage because he didn't quite make it in time? Or does he stop DPSing for that bit of time, losing the raid X amount of DPS? Or does he, in actual fact, attack from the front at least a few times, depending on circumstances?
