so i was doing 25 man voa and ill admit there were some bad dps and people getting hit by the nova. But we kept failling because emalon goes into a berserker enrage. i thought the group was just bad so my guild made a 10 man no pugs. al our dps was higher than 2.5 exept for one who was at about 2.1. the fight was going perfectly and smoothly but emalon still enraged and the fight didnt take so long. did blizz buff emalon without saying anything? dbm said the fight ended at 6 a lil over 6 min.
Emalon enrages at 6 minutes.

Only one is meant to die at a time, and just seconds after it dies, another one spawns. I'm curious, how'd you make all 4 die?

He was prolly AoE tanking with a lot of DPS output. Or the DPS he was running with AoEd the adds down instead of single targeting one. which is saying something if they can AoE all them down before one hits the 10 stack buff.

If you're only pulling 2k-2.5k DPS, you shouldn't be raiding Emalon. Go back to Heroics and Naxx 10.

Agree and don't. 2k-2.5k is more than enough for most Naxx 25 fights. Heroics? really? 1.5k is Heroic style.

If your raid of 17 DPS in Naxx 25 can only pull 2.5k each, you will wipe on Patchwerk due to enrage. Grats!
2.5k DPS is Naxx 10 range.

Assuming you are only look at 17 DPS and ignoring tank's damage, those 17 DPS would need to each do 2130 DPS over 6 minutes in order to meet the enrage timer.
Of course if you took that long everyone would be running out of mana...

The issue with Emalon is DPS time on the boss himself,
A melee heavy group could put out 4/5k each, ut if they are constantly running out of Novas, and "pre-running" to the adds, you lose a LOT of damage on the boss without anyone putting out low DPS

The adds in 10 man have so little health its kinda hillarious. Over the course of 2 overcharges, my DK alt can aoe down the 2-3 that don't get touched. I've seen prot pallies pull over 5k dps while tanking adds on 25 man using a max block value set.
Just because a tank can aoe down all adds, doesn't mean he should. On my DK, I am very careful with the adds. What I do is I start off with my normal aoe tanking to make sure they all stick to me. After they are down to 80%, I stop all aoe.
After I get a new add, I simply single-target it. The other adds do not lose agro by that point.
Tanks have to know when to stop with aoe, don't make group wipe just because you "can" dps down all 4 adds yourself, it isn't an accomplishment.
BTW, 2.5k is really pushing it with Emalon. If you're also using 3 healers, that maybe the problem. If you have a ret paladin, make sure he's using blessing of light, it will help, and you can use 2 healers.
I've never seen adds tanked close to Emalon, though it seems possible. The nova seems to usually happen when add isn't enraged. Melee has to run towards adds about 5 to 3 seconds before one enrages. Rogues could sprint over probably a second before enrage, paladins with 20% speed boost could also wait a little longer. Actually probably all melee has some way to run faster.
This is a very technical fight if you have 2.5k dps. Also, you may survive few seconds into enrage if your tank pops shield wall (or equivalent) or all avoidance buttons. On 25 man enrage hits for 70k ... last I remember. So a shield wall will mean tank can get 2-shotted, but if healers spam, you may get lucky.

Emalon is a significantly nerfed encounter from when it first was released. If you can't pull off the combined dps to beat that enrage timer, then you don't deserve welfare tier 8.
Remember to test the raid on the mobs before emalon. They are a great indication of if you can pull off the dps on the acutal boss fight. They should reach no more then seven charges.
