Hello all,
This is my Frost DK tank:
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Thunderhorn&n=Runenomore
I usually eat Snapper Extreme as Buff food. I have tanked H ToC successfully before. But I do take a lot of damage. In yesterday's run, the healer couldnt just keep me up for the 1st 3 bosses. I believe he/she was holy priest. We had mage, shammy, rogue as the 3 champions. After 3 wipes he/she just got frustrated and left group. Almost made me feel/sound like I am not geared enough for H ToC.
Also to note, I did blow my IBF, UBA and AMS the first chance I went under 50%.
Edit: With Frost presence and HoW, I have 24207 armor, 23.5 dodge, 18 parry, close to 32k HP.
Any help/advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
nkris.

Thanks Iegu for your reply.
Shall look into getting a Brewfest group going.
Our group makeup was DK dps, Hunter, Lock, healer (think it was holy priest), me (DK tank). I understand your points on shammy. I have a shammy on my friends list who has healed me a bunch of times. With him I usually stack more melee for chain heals. The lock SSed the hunter, which left little to desire.
Since you were mentioning about avoidance being low, are there any guidlines/min requirements in terms of avoidance/hp/mitigation for different heroics/raids?
Thanks for help.

Your gear is fine.
Your health and avoidance isn't low for a 5man heroic. Matter of fact is that holy priest is the worst healer there is for 5man ToC.
My GL, who is a holy priest, had troubles healing me in ToC5 HC aswell. And I'm doing fine in ToC10 heroic.
Btw.. Why +10 on chest? 275 health is better imo.
For me I think having your total combined avoidance including miss at 50% would be what I would shoot for.
You gotta be kidding me.. 50% avoidance for ToC5 HC!
And the OP has 50,29% avoidance (After DR). So no need for a avoidance trinket...
-.-

@Both Thanks a lot for replying. Both your comments/advice is appreciated.
The above comments does bring me the question to mind: How do u get to the 50% calculation? My armor damage reduction shows me 61%. I tried finding that out in forums, but cant really find a formula of sorts.
Thanks again in advance.

Thanks Z for comments.
I do make sure I am not standing on poison and move out for me and melee. Even if I have my shammy friend healing with cleansing totems. Also usually end up on interrupt duty on shammy even with another DK being there.
I just made this post to understand if there was anything I could do from my part to improve H ToC, given that I shall be running it more for my shoulders (or I save enuf triumph badges to get that) and weapon.
I have now gotten the Brewfest dodge trink too and shall probably get the badge sigil for deflection.
Thanks for comments all.

Your total avoidance is your dodge+parry+miss combined. Miss isn't listed on your stats but in general it is 5% if your defense is 540, plus 3% if you have points in Frigid Dreadplate.
If miss change is only 5%, then i only have 5% miss since I'm blood.
Entire log and only melee attacks (No special attacks that can miss like cleave, etc.):
616 swings at me.
312 hit me - 312 / 616 = 50,65%
127 dodge - 127 / 616 = 20,62%
56 miss - 56 / 616 = 9,09%
121 parry - 121 / 616 = 19,64%
50,65 + 20,62 + 9,09 + 19,64 = 100%
That's from our first night in ToC10 heroic where we killed NB and Lord Jara and had a few wipes on FC, now here is another report which is two weeks older then the other.
1311 swings at me.
671 hit me - 671 / 1311 = 51,18%
293 dodge - 293 / 1311 = 22,35%
106 miss - 106 / 1311 = 8,08%
241 parry - 241 / 1311 = 18,38%
51,18 + 22,35 + 8,08 + 18,38 = 99,99%
This is from ToC10 normal, Thorim-HM, Freya-HM, Ignis and Razorscale.
These numbers aren't exactly a prime example of my avoidance since they include special fights, even some where I'm DPS.
BUT that doesn't change the fact that miss is MORE THEN 5% with 539 defense

@Bllets
Not sure why you are getting so worked up over this but base chance for a level 80 mob to miss is 5% that does not include any other factors such as buffs etc.
Miss is also a broken stat with a huge DR and has been broken for some time unless Blizz fixed it with the last patch.
Because it is important for me to know my avoidance. And it might be to others as well, so giving false information isn't something i like to just go by.
And true, miss is a odd little one, i once say the exact way to calculate the right miss chance... i think, and i was actually hoping someone had that equation... :)

@oberon thats an interesting theory u have about killing rogue first. Shall keep in mind next time I get him.
@Bllets/Iegu -- thanks for the informative discussion you 2 are having. Appreciate it and the comments you have had.
@Bllets - I put +10 stats in chest for the exact reason of avoidance. I figured I am pretty stacked with HP for what I do (which is primarily Heroics), and hence wanted some more agi/str for dodge/parry. I used to have +275, which I changed to have +10 stats. Unless you think the +10 stats is abolutely useless compared to the extra health.
