With a fast weapon like that, your strikes would do much less damage than if it was slow.
Of course, this is assuming that you think Dual Wielding as a tank is good. Prepare for the onslaught of people who will let their feelings be known on this subject.

lol, Yeah this has been talked about incessantly, and to that I say prepare yourself for the onslaught of "Are you freaking kidding me? We have gone over this you noob?"
Is it viable? Sure
Is it advisable? No
Is it workable? To a degree

dont DW tank.
i wouldn't even call it viable. I'm the DK class officer for my guild, and if my GM asked me to look at a possible new recruit who DW while tanking i'd turn him away in a heartbeat. I dont know if id even give him the option of changing to get in. You can fix a lot of things, but you cant fix stupid.

Yikes. I mean, I get what you're saying, but it's 100% possible such a person wouldn't know any better. Not everyone, even at endgame, comes to sites like these, and if you don't know any better, it's an easy logical leap to assume that Frost is both the DW and tanking tree, so you should do both (not that all tanks are Frost, but that is a commom assumption).
Not trying to jump down your neck b/c I'm sure you know what you're doing...just saying that "stupid" and "naive" aren't the same, is all.
My advice to the OP is to get way geared up and then DW tank on some "fun runs" with friends where you can just blow through content. And who knows, maybe you'd find it workable. But for endgame stuff, it will probably be a hinderance unless you're very overgeared for the instance.

what would be some good weapons for DW frost dps
i was thinkin about runnin heroic trial of the champion and gettin that 1h mace i think(cant think of the name right now,and maxdps doesnt show 1h weapons when i search)and just dual wielding that
but i dont know as far as gear if i should change,or could i just go get 2 1h weapons and be good to go.i can link armory if anyones curious
i'm thinking
Aledar's battlestar
is the weapon you're talking about from H-ToC, and yes i would say these are good weapons to dual wield. Good top end damage, good dps, slow attack speed, good stats, even a bit of ArP.. Nothing wrong in there at all.

i'm a frost dual wielding tank, I'm using 2 peacekeeper blades, and besides the trouble of reaching the defense cap, i find it good. i mean, i have no trouble at all keeping aggro, and even though i certainly do less damage than with a 2hander, i noticed that my threat slightly went up.
here is my spec:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent#j0vbZhtezhMIoczfuzAo0g:pdwmV0
also i have the sigil that grants me 120 dodge every time i use rune strike, and I'm using the runes that give 2% parry and 50% disarm reduction on both swords.
you can armory me if you want, character name is Hapiness on server firetree.
yeah yeah, should have been a dwarf, but the 2% chance to be missed made me reconsider.

If you want to start tanking Heroics as quickly as possible, then yes Dual Wield Tanking is far from stupid. Most of the reason why I think people are so against it is the pure stigma of having to work extra hard for equipment that was already received. Just imagine finally getting that 2h drop you've been raiding for, only to find out that the future of tanking is in Dual Wielding.
I think you've missed one of the "perks" of being a DK that
all
other tanking classes moan and groan about -
Rune of the Stoneskin Gargoyle
. Nobody else gets 25 defense from their weapon and shield, nor do they get a free 2% stamina either. SSG is generally accepted as the best DK tanking rune, and it's not available on 1H weapons.
Also - your Titanguard or Peacekeeper blades are
way
too fast to be DWing them. If you're still able to hold threat, I'd say you're in a group with DPS who aren't pushing your limits. If you get an addon that lets you view your threat breakdown, I'm fairly sure a lot of it (proportionately) will be coming from HB and the Frost Fever ticks, rather than Rune Strike, Obliterate, and Frost Strike. If you have a look at my armory page, I was able to tank Cyanigosa last night (it was the heroic daily) with a fully T8.5 geared enh shammy - him pulling 5.5K on the boss, and only at about 60% threat. (I'm
dying
for a new weapon... I've been hoping Marrowstrike drops from H ToC for an easy pickup).

The benefits of DW tanking make up for some of the drawbacks, while coming with their own set of problems. While you do hit faster, you also build threat at a more reasonable pace. That being said, you also have an opportunity to miss these strikes more often.
I think you made a point and refuted it all in the same paragraph.
Since your strikes are based on rune availability and occur at the same speed as a 2h weapon, the only variation in threat mechanics are white damage, and strikes that aren't affected by Threat of Thassarian. This damage is negligible as far as the "pace" of threat. The only thing that affects pace is your miss rate, so if you're hit capped, it's a moot point.
I'm curious as to what you feel the 'benefits' of DW tanking are.
Way to be open minded on the subject. DW tanking is quite viable, just not until you have almost BiS gear. Because somebody has the initiative to go and try something thats not a "cookie cutter" doesnt mean they are stupid.
Remember Diablo 2? There were all sorts of crazy builds (Jabazons, Poison Dagger Mancers, Pet-based Druids) that were sub-optimal, and you used them to have a different play experience. Breaking the mold, as it were.
The problem with doing that in WoW is that you could potentially screw up 24 other people with the shenanigans. D2, you just screwed yourself (or at least didn't contribute as much to a group, since it was all dps, no tanking, no healing).
In the case of DW tanking, you're taking a deliberate hit in functionality. You could see it as marginal or severely lacking compared to 2h, but in any case, Blizzard has made a conscious decision to have 2h tanking be better than DW tanking.
If you want to be crazy-pants Sarah Palin Maverick, do it with your friends in a small group.
If you are Main Tanking a 25-man raid, guess who we'll blame the wipes on?
People can get overdramatic in here about how horrible DW tanking is, but you can't win any debate on the side of "DW is better (or even equal)." Erring on the side of caution is just what is going on here.
