Duh moment. The Horde have no sea ports and must try to take Gilneas.

It's a sub-zone of Icecrown. Go north of the tournament and it's there. High Elven and Blood Elven fleets fighting Krakens and the Kvaldir.
But Forsaken and the Orcs probably have some ships, in addition to zeppelins.
I would much rather see the expansion of zeppelin usage rather than watercraft, honestly. Airships are much more versatile than water-bound ships. And with a faction of Goblins making their way under the Horde banner, it's a definite possibility.

Parrazell, you're forgetting that Sunsail Anchorage has probably (in Lore) been retaken by Silvermoon. As you could see in Quel'danas, and can see again in Hrothgar's landing, the Blood Elves have quite a few ships.
true enough, but thats also probably why 90% (or maybe 100%) of horde ships are Blood elf.
Isnt Hrothgar's landing only a dinky little place? (honestly not sure, not as familiar with horde territory)You must have missed my post... There are lots and lots of Forsaken ships, even if there is not a harbour visible in Tirifal Glades. There are also several large Orc ships shipwrecked off of Borean Tundra. The way I see it, the Orgrimmar and Tirisfal Harbours are just like the Stormwind Harbour used to be. They're there lorewise even if ou can't see them in game.

Ships can carry a lot of things that zeppelins cannot, and anything that can be carried by zeppelin can be carried with a smaller crew in far larger quantities by ship. Ships are also far more dependable than goblin technology.
While I agree that an expansion of air power is in order, I don't think it would be wise to have it be at the expense of the navy.

dies in Icecrown
Wow. Now THAT would be something. You really think Blizz has the guts to kill her off? It seems to me they're never very happy with introducing new characters or killing the old ones.

Well..... one of the early Cataclysm maps made it seem like Theramore was under water........
Still, yeah there is a port in Trisfal Glades and another in Silverpine, they mention them both in WC2: Tides of Darkness, WC3, and Arthas: Rise of the Lich King; Alliance ships heading after the Horde in WC2, Arthas leaving for Northrend from Trisfal and the like.

You say that ships are more capable of carrying large amounts of cargo, where zeppelins cannot. I will counter with the massive size of Orgrim's Hammer. A cargo fleet with airships of that size would be far more useful than a naval cargo fleet. I do agree that naval forces must be maintained, but not at the expense of such glaring versatility. However, you've got me on the whole Goblin technology part...

Ships on the other hand are relatively cheap and can be built in much great numbers, which in turn means that they can carry more cargo.

Well think about it, there is only one Hammer and one Skybreaker, even though both sides could build dozens of them. Why don't they? Man power and needs really, after all you'd also have to find both Alliance and Horde members that are unafraid of heights, don't get motion sickness and the like..... who are we kidding, Blizzard just doesn't want to make it too futuristic by having sky fleets.

Pretty much.
For the manpower to build one Breaker/Hammer, they could roflstomp a major outpost.
Perhaps I was hasty in implying that it would be better to build a fleet of airships rather than a massive naval force. I still think that it would be more effective in the long run, simply because zeppelins can get in and out of bad situations quickly, can go just about anywhere, and are capable of carrying large amounts of cargo. Granted, the manpower and supplies would come at a heavy cost. I guess it would be a more valid idea if we were to look further into the future. If the Horde would remain as a very strong force, and grow significantly, a fleet like this may not only be completely warranted, but necessary.

Allies are suppose to ninja a few locations in either northern or southern Barrens, and I'm hoping it's northern, cause that's the side that is regrowing.
dare I ask...have the Ally's finally captured crossroads, only to realize it still gets raided every hour?
the Irony would be just too delicious.
