Evil things they are

I wasn't aware that those two words meant anything different.
In regards to the Dresden Files it does.
And while you all may dislike it, my girlfriend likes my beard.

Just because I'm a nerd:
"Back," I said, taking a step towards it, myself. The pentacle
began to burn with the cold, clear light of applied will and
belief—my faith, if you will, that it could turn such a monster
aside.

Or she likes you so she just doesn't care. No one likes a neckbeard. They may not care, but no one likes it.
It doesn't help that most girls are shorter than guys =S

Thanks for proving what I said?

Hm? I'm not sure why this is turning into an argument. I was curious why you corrected my use to the word belief, and so I checked the book, and he uses belief and faith interchangeably in the exact passage.

If he had a beard I'd be okay with it.
But Batman and SupArman derive their awesomeness from not having beards!

There is one moustached man I like with his moustache:

It's still more about Faith as opposed to outright belief.

Okay, if that's what you want to use, you can call it faith. I don't mind.
I'm fine with Dresden's own words. I just thought you had something from the book supporting the distinction, which is why I went and looked it up. The curse of having too many books and studying literature in school - looking every little thing up :O

Any time the Knights of the Cross are mentioned, it's about their Faith. And Dresden himself says if he held anything other then his own pentacle, it wouldn't do any good against the Red/Black court vamps.
Actually re-reading through the Dresden Files right now as well.

Are you trying to goad me into arguing with you? =/
I'm sorry for upsetting your understanding of Butcher's word choice. I'll try not to use the word belief if I'm ever discussing the books with you again, if it means that much to you.

Not an argument, a discussion. As for the second comment there, you linked one thing, I've seen him use the term faith more then belief. /shrug

I think I ran out of discussion like two posts in. Jim Butcher used the word belief in the context I used it in, so I'm happy with my use of it. If you don't want to accept that, then I'm not going to argue the point. And since I don't want this back and forth to go on all night over some menial tibit of data, I'll give you the final word after this, and then I'm done with this topic. I've said all I wanted to say and I'm too old to argue over things like this.
