you definitely need an epic mount, no doubt. you can either buy the regular pve mount or cough up 30 marks from each bg and get the pvp mount. i myself have no interest in the flaming horse though, it screams 'hey im a warlock' too much for me.

I offerd 5g to help run me through and picked up some people farily quick. It took me awhile to get groups to run also.

I did the dreadsteed epic mount quest for not so long time ago, I didn't find it hard to get people, but I had some irl friends on the server+ knew many on the server.
I would suggest you to do the quest for 150 skill, since it's cheaper, you will get the summon dreadsteed spell but will take more time to do since you got alot of quests to do, + find people to do the quest with.

I've been trying to complete the dreadsteed line for a month now. I can't find ANYBODY to go through the dungeons with me.
That being said, I just bought TBC. Do I need to have the dreadsteed, or is it an afterthought now that flyers have been introduced?
You want the epic ground mount for old world ...which you will find yourself in back in.
I had the same problem ...no one besides warlocks doing this quest want to do Dire Maul - West. I fortunanly had some guildies available and we did it on spur of the moment. Prior to that I was trying to solicit some 70's for help with it...offering 10g each...I was reminded then that they can farm 10g in the OL in a fraction of the time it takes to run Dire Maul. Pulling a group for that can be really hard...at least that's what I saw on my server. If you have all the mats to do the quest you may want to advertise that and you may find another lock that needs it and by saving him hundreds of gold for the mats...you may get him and his buddies to run it.

Me and my guildie have gotten to the Dire Maul part, need to get the key though. And a tank, and a healer. Our guild consists of me and her and our alts at the moment. Getting the tank is easy enough, and through him the healer, however getting the time to do it, there lies in the problem.

The summoning of the Dreadsteed is one of coolest moment in WoW. I take every opportunity to do it again with my warrior.
Every player should see it at least once.
