DPS at 3.1 aff or emberguard

I'm thinking about the incoming specs for 3.1 and these 2 look the best what do you think?

I prefer affliction but I'm in love with soul fire so what's your opinion?

Not in 3.1 =P

3.1 Affliction fails pretty hard, the ruling specs are 0/41/30 and 0/40/31. The thing to decide is if you would rather have Conflagrate or Felguard... Conflag has been proven to put out more DPS, while the Felguard keeps the rotation nice and simple. Its all up to preference IMO.

i've no interest in another rate my spec thread but had to comment on "3.1 Affliction fails pretty hard".
it's WAY too early for statements like that one and also too soon to declare those hybrids as winners. i've been getting better results on the ptr with builds that don't follow those hybrid numbers. how about we keep our minds open, just a crack, while testing goes on eh?

it really bothers me that people like you read a few things and declare a winner. that's not how this process works.

its WAY too early for statements like that one and also too soon to declare affliction NOT shafted.

Remember, its a PTR. Latest numbers from the PTR declare 0/40/31 the highest DPS, with 0/41/30 coming in second. These are subject to change at any moment, however the poster asked for a 3.1 build... I gave him what 3.1 is telling us right now. Saying that its too early to give current news is just retarded.

what i'm saying is, just because someone posts on EJ with some parses, that doesn't make it so. if you read a post there and then decide to come to another forum and quote it as gospel then you're a fool. don't confuse a very small amount of data with 'truth'... it's too early.

you didn't offer an opinion you stated something as fact and you're wrong to do so.

your "IMO" was in reference to the idea that the spec you choose is your preference. this actually isn't an opinion, this is a fact so the only part of your original post which was fact you offered as a point of view.

the problem is that there are some things that people ask here which can be answered with a definitive answer but for you to state that we're in a position to make a call what spec is best in 3.1 already weakens our position when a serious point needs to be made. trying too hard to sound knowledgeable often has the opposite effect.
