The World Health Organization
(WHO) defines traditional medicine as:
"the health practices, approaches, knowledge and beliefs incorporating plant, animal and mineral-based medicines, spiritual therapies, manual techniques and exercises, applied singularly or in combination to treat, diagnose and prevent illnesses or maintain well-being."

Do I believe that modern medicine is better than traditional?
Very much so. I would be dead several times over if it wasn't for modern medicine. For example, to control my asthma, I get a monthly injection that was made for me specifically. It binds to Immunoglobulin E antibodies, but only the free ones, selectively controlling allergic reactions and bringing my asthma under control. Before, I could hardly do anything outside, I couldn't breathe smoke or touch animals. Now, I can do almost anything I please. I still have asthma, so prolonged exposure to smoke is still bad, as is cold weather, etc. However, I have a level of freedom I never had when I was younger.
I'd like to see traditional medicine do that.

There is no good hard fast answer to this.
I mean, you list "exercise" as part of traditional medicine, and say that can be used in combination with modern techniques. How could exercise be a bad thing?
On the other hand, rubbing root pulp into your scalp while chanting an ancient African phrase is not going to cure your intestinal cancer.

#38: Should couples live together prior to marriage?

Yes; can help save money on a messy divorce later in life.

Yes; can help save money on a messy divorce later in life.
Can also help save money in general, for the same reason as having a roommate does.
As someone who doesn't like the idea of formal marriage, my answer is obviously yes.

#38: Should couples live together prior to marriage?
No. It is a sinful lifestyle. With this lifestyle more and more popular, and divorce rates at an all time high, I highly doubt this is a preventative measure for divorce. I think having enough respect for marriage to respect the boundaries of marriage will strengthen it, not the disrespect of marriage before it even begins.

It's funny. I actually intended to wait for all the "naughty" stuff until I was "married." I even was pretty convinced I wouldn't live with my significant other until we were "married." However, since I am not allowed to get "married" I decided 18 was long enough to wait for the "naughty" stuff and my partner and I moved in together 3 years ago after it was clear we couldn't do anything else legally. So, we've combined our finances and our homes... that's the best we can do.
Oh well... I guess I'll just continue living this sinful life in a downward spiral forever and ever.
Yes... I'm being pessimistic.

Living together is a sin? Odd, I thought sex outside of marriage was the sin according to Christianity.
I realize
some
most people will have sex while living together. But what about those who can refrain, should they still not live together?

When it comes to living a Christian lifestyle, this is probably the hardest thing to do in modern life. IMHO, even harder than not having sex before marriage.
If I could go back to my younger years with the mentality I have now, I think I could abstain from sex. But I honestly don't know that, even now, that I could reach the point of marriage without living together first. Sex is, for the most part, the same no matter who you do it with. Living with someone, every day, for the rest of your life, is something different every time.
My wife and I met, and started dating early in high-school. But, like many teen romances, we fell apart, and we both went our seperate ways. When I was 18, I met a girl that I thought was amazing. At 19, we, along with 2 other friends, moved in together. By the time I was 20, I realized that not only was this girl not amazing, she was horrible. She had introduced me to drugs, cheated on me several times, used me to purchase her a $20,000 car, and drove me to the brink of insanity. I have to admit, at 18, I would have married her without a second thought.
My wife and I were at least a little better, although there is no such thing as "a little sin". After reuniting, and dating for about 6 months, I proposed to her. And we spent about a month or two getting our individual affairs in order (I had to give notice to mu current landlord to move, and we had to find an apartment, ect). But we did live together, engaged, for about 9 months. We could have, I guess, got married quicker, and not broke the rules, but we did for the sake of preparing for the wedding, and having it on a specfic date. (my dads birthday).
So, "should they"...no. But, like in the QOTD, I cant say I practice what I preach in this case.

I think that is entirely up to the couple to decide.

Judging from a few of my friends, it's a good thing they moved in together first.
Their relationsships that'd lasted years, ended quite fast once they moved in together.

My husband and I lived together for two years before we got married. I think that it is 100% up to the couple. I do applaud those that wait until they are married though. My sister and her husband waited to live together until they got married.

Yeah, this. Though I do think couples should at least meet before their marriage, which isn't the case throughout the world.
