I am currently a 6/46/0 warrior. Now i know this isnt a tank but does it make me DPS? Everytime i get inot grps I tell everyone that i am spec'd for Fury and they tell me to tank anyway, of course when i cant keep the aggro they boot me in the middle of an instance and we all knows how this ends. What would be my best bet to be able to grp with others to finish lvling and get my armor up to par?

I was fury since lvl 20, and tanked instances quite often. I played a month at 60 before TBC, as fury, and still tanked scholo/strat/dm/etc. when needed. When TBC hit, I collected me some nice tank kit, and used it whenever needed. To be fair, we did guild runs mostly so if I was tanking, they know to go easy on me. But most of the guild runs I went with had a feral or prot war tank, so I could happily go as DPS.
Now as for DPS wars at 70, in raids there's obviously room for them, but instances, people will have varying opinions. Many people will decline you for heroics because you have no CC, which they shouldn't since being able to offtank is sometimes better than CC. For regular instances, with guildie healers (which I know are good and have great gear) I put on tank gear for 1 situation: bosses. All trash is done in DPS gear. Heck in BM last night I didn't put on tank gear once cause my priest was whining he was bored (he kept me up on regular portals with just a renew - I was in full DPS gear).
Basically, if you get the right group of people and the right guild, your endgame experience as a DPS warrior will be the best fun you've ever had.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, and this is basic stuff, but stay in defensive stance when tanking, always use a shield, revenge whenever its up (best threat generator), no matter what, sunder to 5 when its not, don't be concerned with doing alot of damage...your a meat-shield in these instances. Otherwise, like someone said above, you can tank most things up to 70 being off-spec.

Well i am a tank and nothing but a tank and would not have it any other way. Before you can be a good tank you need to understand and ACCEPT that your ONLY job is to hold the mobs in place while others kill it. If you are in any way shape or form concerned about doing dps then tanking is not for you.
There have been multiple comments about gear , spec etc. IF you are going to be and end game tank then you need tank gear and a prot spec to go with it. Can you tank Steamvaults as an FA warrior? Sure, but NOT if your are in there with a level appropriate group, everyone wearing blue as normal just having arrived at 70 through questing etc.
Using Saunders is the old school method. Revenge is your highest threat generator. Use it as often as it is available, using Saunder to fill in the gaps when revenge is not ready. Everyone in your group MUST use threat meters. If your group members are not using threat meters then they are noobs. Watching for the Saunder icon is not acceptable in many boss fights, you must have threat meters running to know your exact threat. Some bosses are un-tauntable and drawing aggro will instanlty wipe the group.
Remember as you progress further into the end game content, ALL player specs and gear become increasingly important as the instances become increasingly less forgiving of mistakes and poorly places talent points. What you can get away with in for example Steamvaults will not fly in a heroic run somewhere else.
Many times as tank you will be expected to mark targets before pulling. A good tank prints out the strategies for every instance you plan on running and familiarizes yourself with mobs, bosses and pulls. Sure someone else can do it but having the tank do it always better. You are always up front and have the best view and you are the one who knows best how a tank works and in what order you prefer to kill things. Learn proper kill order and how other classes in your group can be utilized for CC. You and you alone are going to be blamed for a bad pull. Be prepared to take charge and tell the group to slow down on dps until you have better agro etc. Being a tank is a very "center stage" kind of job. Screw it up and they will boot you out of the group. Do a good job and you will have more invites and praise than you know what to do with.

you're a joke. firstly its SUNDER
second threat meters do not give you exact threat to begin with, and to even raise the idea that everyone in a 5man group MUST have it running is ridiculous
ive never once printed out a strategy for anything, use common sense.

i'll tell you in short the answer to your question:
no you do not suck as a warrior, if you're 61 and you got there without someone babying you, you don't "suck"
on the other hand, this shows me either
A: you group with people who completely outgear you and hence steal threat
or more likely
B: you don't have enough experience in tanking and hence you can't grasp the mechanics very well
just ask around in the forums or in-game how to tank, and when you group up for instances where you don't tank, watch how the tank keeps aggro, the best way to learn is visually
