Your gear and talents are solid.
Make sure your blood runes are always on cooldown to get the damage reduction.
Also make sure that you NEVER EVER have your back towards mobs. You can't dodge/parry when hit from behind which will result in major damage.
Pop your cooldowns often.
If you do those things and the healer is still complaining then he just sucks.
What you also should try to do: Go into UK and solo the first few trash mobs. With your gear it should be absolutely no problem to kill them on your own, without any healing.
If you can kill trash without healing then the healer can hardly complain, can he ;) ?
Generally DK tanks take a bit more damage in heroics then other classes. All other tanks have some kind of block (shield for Warrior / Paladin, Savage Defenses for Druids) which greatly reduces the damage from trash. DKs lack such a damage reduction. It doesn't matter in end game fights when bosses hit for 20k, block only takes a minor amount off that. But against trash that only hits for 1k-2k the lack of block will make you take more damage on trash then other classes. Not enough to justify healers complaining because as I said earlier, you should be able to solo most trash if necessary.

Try to get tank pieces without so much Hit rating.
Some of your gems suck for tanking.
The gems you should use Solid (24/30 stam), Regal (10dodge/15 stam) or Guardian (10 expertise/15 stamina), and Enduring (10 defense/15 stamina). Use of a Nightmare Tear (10 to all stats) is fine as well.

and its not bad to gem strength as a dk tank.I use DnD and Howling blast as my main threat abilities which benifit a lot from strength(attack power)

You never ever gem str. You should get more then enough from it from your gear, gemming it is a total waste. Gem only for stats that help you survive - which should mostly be stamina.

DK's are a pain to heal....if.......
1. They don't manage their cooldowns properly
2. They are frost or blood spec and don't do number 1.
3. If they don't use their blood runes up immediately so Blade Barrier is up consistently.
4. They don't gem dodge and stamina. Dodge is huge for you and your healers due to spike damage.
As a death knight you will be dealt spike damage. I heal on my druids, and though warriors will take more damage over an extended part of the fight they take consistent damage. Paladins are superior tanks right now, and are a breeze to heal same with Druids. A dk who does all three of the above is a huge pain to heal and will constantly be below 50 percent. As a druid healer, I give up on dk tanks who are like that and start healing the rogue since it's going to be easier.

1. When we're talking CD's which are we talking about? Biggest CD i ever use in a heroic is DnD, unless we pull big.
4. When you say gem for dodge do you mean in pure gems or in hybrid to get meta/socket bonus?

Billets, DnD is threat. I am talking about Bone Shield/IBF/UBA/AMS your tanking/pvp cooldowns even Blade Barrier.
4. Never gem straight dodge always gem dodge/stam if you are over 30k plus in health. From my side both as a healer and tank Dodge/stam is very nice to have, though it does help contribute to the spikey damage dk's take.

Well.. DnD still has a 10sec CD. :> But i was just teasing you. I never ever use CD's in heroics unless we play around and pull pretty big.
I only ever use dodge to reach meta gem, simple because the benefit isn't that good imo. compared to what i loose. I rather have stamina that works on Gormok's bleed, on the worms magic damage, and so on.
I already have a high amount of dodge (30,35% selfbuffed) and can reach more with avoidance trinkets for fights where needed (General-HM/Algalon). I don't feel the loss of 15sta is worth the little dodge i get (Due to DR)

DKs are a very CD oriented tanking class.
We are basically another plate tank cept we dont have a shield....
our CDs are really nice, so when tanking harder content, popping CD is very very important.
I once had to sac my ghoul with vamp blood on cause I was getting whacked too hard.
Yes we take spike dmg, deal with it.

@fathomless - Please use paragraph breaks it is tough to read the giant paragraph with hardly any periods, or breaks. Thank you for the prodigious use of comma's though ;p. You are correct dk's played poorly as tanks are nothing more than death waiting to happen. We are very CD dependent now that they have nerfed just about everything we use for tanking thanks to pvp bias.

From an experienced resto shaman's PoV, I always have to heal DKs more often than other tanks. Why this is, I don't know, as I haven't dabbled in the Death Knight since there are a trillion of them. I'm guessing it's because of the lack of a shield, however I do not have this problem with bear tanks, so it may lie elsewhere. Also, 90 percent of the DKs that I PUG heroics with are terrible, I'll be honest. I'm not sayin all DKs are bad, as I've seen excellent ones, but there are many giving them a bad name.
I still think it's total bullcrap you guys can't use shields...
