Man I have 0 problems with mages. Grip, strangulate, beat, ams, beat. Done. 12 secs is plenty enough when they cant do !@#$ an you have unholy presence.
I have problems with locks. They fear me before I touch them. Dot and kite me. I can grip or chase, or w/e. But they always fear again, and more dots. Agony and fear, and by the time I'm out of fear im taking like 6k ticks.
I hate locks teh worse in pvp.

theres one strat i use to take down a mages. at the begining of the fight keep chains of ice on him and try and get close (DO NOT USE DEATH GRIP), once he blinks away witch he will inevitibly do THEN use anti-magic shell and death grip (this way you cant be frost novaed), after this throw chains of ice on him (or glyph of heartstrike will work too if your blood, witch i am) and just go to town as fast as you can, once antimagic shell is about to where off thats when you use strangulate and finish him off.
now theres always teh chance that hes gonna iceblock during the anti-magic phase or after u strangulate (idk if mages can iceblock when silenced, i know pallys can bubble) if so then back up a lil so you can still rush back in but are out of frost nova range, then either try and get close after and trinket out of frost nova, or just take a few seconds to summon army while hes ice blocked
