I do have to admit the fact that Blizzard nerf rocket boots is really quite lame. Engineering is already one of the least beneficial professions out there. So now Blizzard decides to take away the best foot enchant. Oh well what can you do?

Boots were OP, face it. If it wasn't, you wouldn't be QQ all over it, and there wouldn't be 90% of top arena players going with Engineering (paired with JC of course, but this was adressed as well). Also, they will propably buff it in 3.2 to 5 seconds so you will be able to smash people in bgs.

I understand that they were OP. But Blizzard needs to throw Engineering a bone here. It is absolutely the least profitable profession. Eveything good in there is BoP (not counting the Mounts, which cost 12.5k to make).

Let's see then...
Engineer only mount (tied with Tailoring as the only proffesion with special mount)
Rocket Boots do working in bg (really screw people, just like Tailoring Nets, just like them not working in arena)
X-Ray gogles (might be a "-" if you are horde... troll and undead males w/o clothing.. yuck!)
Granades
2 engineer only minipets (I seriously thinking to reroll only to get them as collector)
Able to craft 3 minipets for sale (only class able to do that)
What about crafting 2 epic boe guns?
Rocket launcher mounted on hands (not only cool, but also having very good burst potential since they are off GCD, as a Warlock, the only ability that works for me similiar is Shadowburn, that is talented, cost Soul Shard each use, and can't kill anyone since it does have GCD, making it near useless)
Parachute cloak
Repair bot
Mail bot
Flares
Bunch of silly trinkets like chicken trinket or NET launcher (wonder if it works on 80 and in arenas, seems like no one tested it and 20seconds of root sounds OP) and finally
Ability to resurrect people
Compare it to any proffesion and you will see that no one is even slighty so entertaining as engineering (closest being Tailoring which also sucks in arena, and beside few coins on bags and 4 day CD on cloth do not make money).
Who cares if it's non proffitable, it have perks that other "proffitable" proffesions will never see
(personally I don't know how people make money on things like Blacksmith, you get lot more money from dailies rather than trying to make any money with other BSers around
paying their customers
to level up...).

To be honest, I don't like the idea of taking away proffesions from arena. When you sign up for that arena fight, you do it with nothing but your own preparation to back you up, and the proffesion you chose to level up is a part of that preparation.
Now some people said that some proffesions are better, when compared to the others, but really there is no one forcing you to stay with what you chose when you were Lv. 5. I know this isn't the best of statements, but in all honesty, if you are that un-pleased with your prof and saying that the there are better options for you, then why don't you just change your character around a little bit?
Yes, it is a tiresome hassle, and yes, it might cost you a lot of gold, but as I said, how you wish to prepare for arena is up to you, and there is no one stopping you from picking up something more beneficial.
all are happy now, you aren't forced to even learn professions for PVP.
How about those that already took the effort and made it to 400+ with one or two proffesions? I don't think they will be happy.

oh....wait, you QQ cause you liked your
stamina on rings
and
mining stamina bonus
?
well, screw you, you aren't going to have at least 1k free HP if I'm aren't going to have
rocket boots
I wouldn't call it "free HP", since it actually takes quite a bit of work to obtain the benefits. I haven't done that much arena myself, so I can't comment on how awesome or not the rocket boots are in PvP vs extra stamina.
Oh and also, engineering is only one proffesion, you can have a second which could be mining for example, giving you the stamina bonus as well, leaving the benefit from i.e. enchanting a minor 480 HP before talents / BOK.
Edit - sorry for double post, it was getting long and I forgot I already had a post up :p again I'm sorry

Anyone is free to level up engineering to use a tinker learned from your trainer. I have no idea how this could be so OP.
For the min/max crowd, they will now move on to Blacksmith or JC. Nerf those, and they will go to the next one. It is a never ending battle going this way.
I don't know if you are being ignorrant or just stupid. You-had-NO-CHOICE! It is like saying that you have a choice to give or not to give money when some robber are putting gun to your head! In order to do arenas you HAD TO roll engineering, even if you spit on it and had 2 other, fullly maxed proffesions on which you are collecting rare recipes. It was ridiculous you must had a proffesion just to have chance at higher bracket. Also, JC is already nerfed in its rightful place (no more imba stats), and BS will be if, at any time, craftable epic gems come. Right now every proffesion is normalized again, engineering still having 2 "original" buffs that you, seems so, aren't able to acnowlege becouse they are not simple passive stats (Hand rocket or +speed rating on use gloves, both giving additional burst potential, but not some OP like omgz sprint boots).

See? all are happy now, you aren't forced to even learn professions for PVP.
Incorrect conclusion.
People are happier with the imbalance. Don't think so? Arena should not be balanced. It would not be good for business, customers, or the game.
Why? Because the imbalance gives players something to blame their failures on. In a nutshell, if you disabled professions, disabled even racials from the Arena for that matter, and made everything perfectly equal, there would be a system that would be telling players they suck. What would you blame your failure on, if everything were equal, if you still couldn't break 1550, 1850, or 2050? A system that tells players they suck would be bad for business, since it discourages players.
And for that reason, I assure you, Blizzard does not truly intend to balance Arena. At least not completely.
I recommend you give the thread
A rather... interesting viewpoint
a read. So no, disabling professions from Arenas would be a very bad idea.

Stupid conspiracy theory again.

Rocket
seems to be still working but it's not my point. Either ALL professions are treated equally, or there's no professions at all.
"Hey guys, Blizzard here, we will make all professions equal for benefits. No mr poor engineer, we weren't talking about you."
For me, its not the rocket boots specifically. Its the whole mindset of giving us a cookie, and subsequently taking it away, or turning it into a piece of celery.
I have only one comment for this-
Now you know how ret paladins feel.
Edit-
Just FYI, they nerfed it because the benefits were DEFINING a whole genre of play style. If you pown someone because of a profession based attack, or don't die/get to restealth because of a profession based talent, it has nothing to do with your premium skill, it has everything to do with your lack of skill and knowledge of your own class and not being able to get the job done without a 4k extra attack or a restealth that shouldn't be possible.
