OK So.. Everyone's heard the rumors about the new X-Pack, and Thrall apparently having a "Durr-moment" and handing control of the horde over to Garrosh.
Most people Hate this, myself included, because simply put, Thrall is too smart to give Garrosh that kind of power.. So I came up with another idea about whats going to happen.
First off, we've heard that goblins are joining the horde because they find Thrall unconscious on a boat some where, and save him, and he in turn offers them a place in the horde. The idea I have about this is, that Thrall himself Never actually gave Garrosh control of the horde. Something happened to Thrall.. maybe he was traveling on a ship when the Cataclysm happened, or maybe Garrosh himself pulled a few strings and tried to have Thrall assasinated, I honestly wouldn't put it past the moron, but Something happened to Thrall.
Afterwords, Garrosh, being in a place of power in the horde, assumes control of the horde, and declares war on the alliance. A number of people object to this for numerous different reasons, most notably Saurfange and Cairne. Garrosh know's he stands no chance against Saurfang, but has no such fear of Cairne, and decides to eliminate him.
This however sparks an uproar in the horde.. The Tauren and Trolls, enraged at Garrosh's actions, leave the horde. The Undead and Bloodelves are also shocked by the actions of Garrosh, and don't care to follow a leader that is so blatantly wreckless. This leaves only the Orc's under Garrosh's control (the goblins have not yet arrived in what used to be Durotar to join the horde).
Cairne's son Baine will then lead the Tauren and Trolls in attack against the Orc's new city, and run across Saurfang and a large number of other Orc's that refused to follow Garrosh. Saurfang's Orc's join up with the Tauren and Trolls, and assault the Orc city, Killing Garrosh and the Orc's that were foolish enough to follow him. Saurfang is elected as the New Warchief of the horde, and the Undead and Bloodelves rejoin the horde now that a much more stable leader is in place again.
Thrall and the goblins then come along and find Durotar in ruins. Saurfang tries to hand control of the horde back over to Thrall, but Thrall is too upset by the destruction in durotar, as well as the loss of his friend Cairne, and his failure with Garrosh, and departs from the horde all together. And then for some radically bogus reason Malfurion pop's out of the emerald dream and offers Thrall a chance to become the next Gaurdian of Tirisfall. And for some equally bizarre reason Thrall accepts the offer..

The ideas for the new Council are in the Thrall as Guardian Thread.
But I honestly see the Undead joining with Garrosh as he would be leading the charge to kill the humans, and the Blood Elf nation would be split 50/50, those that want the war and those that don't.

I figured the Undead wouldnt follow Garrosh because while a lot of them do seem to be consummed with Missplaced vengence.. they actually quite intelligent and I think they would know better then to follow some one like Garrosh, who does little if any thinking before taking action.
Bloodelves have a similar ideal, but there reluctance to join Garros stems more from their lack of significant numbers. Their population is just too low to waste warriors in a campaign against a Much larger force, the alliance.

I don't think I could see Saurfang taking up the Warchief position. I would see it as Nazgrel or Rexxar honestly. You know Garrosh would pull all the Horde forces from Outland if he were to start a war, and those two would undoubtedly end up siding with Baine and Vol'jin.
Everyone knows Saurfang is the best candidate for it, and Garrosh's greatest threat. That's why Garrosh would do his best to see him killed in the battle. After that it would be up to Nazgrel or Rexxar to take up the banner when he falls. In my opinion, the more likely candidate for leadership would be Nazgrel, simply because he's a full-blooded orc, and a shaman, just like Thrall is. I don't think Rexxar would want to wear the mantle of the Warchief. He doesn't seem to take well to leadership positions.
I think this would also raise a question as to the leadership of the Tauren though... with Cairne's death, there would be nobody left to keep Magatha Grimtotem in check. If you ask me, I think the Tauren would have themselves a civil war, and be relatively unable to commit many forces in the fight against Garrosh's Horde.

Cairnes son Baine would most likely succeed Cairne.. I'm not sure what he's up to now, but I see now reason he wouldn't take up the position. And I hadn't thought of Naz or Rex.. >.<

I can see Baine succeeding Cairne, but still, Cairne is the only thing stopping Magatha from leading the Grimtotem Tribe to their genocidal quest. She won't take the heat from Baine that she gets from Cairne, he hasn't proven himself as a leader yet. In all honesty, I would rather see Hamuul Runetotem take up the mantle of High Chieftain, that might make Magatha think twice.

the better of the 2 but still not a whole lot better, i know about 30-40% of players will rage quit if either happen 20-30% will be unhappy yet grow used to tha changed and the rest it just wont matter to one bit.
in anycase i really hope its all just some pityful prank and a lie cos i like how the horde is progressing, finally they seem more like a nation rather than a whole lot of snarling clans at each others throats all the time, why tear that away with 1 cataclymic event 'pun!' ...
I agree 100%. The 'suggested' events of the x-pan giving over the idea of the horde being in disarray, being lead by a thug like Garrosh, and Thrall no longer as warchief.. whats the point then?
The Hordes (the real horde, this one) has set its foundation on the bases of it not being a blood rage driven army that wants to conquer all, but a nation of different races surviving with each others stranges together, and Thrall being the head of this nation.
Well I admire characters like Saurfang, Rexxar and Nazgrel, none of them are those that would take the mantle of warchief having followed Thrall with respect to him all this time.
I'm also one who thinks the whole 'Thrall leaves the horde to become a guardian fo Tirisfal' is still utter crap, since a stronger suggestion is that Med'an will be the next guardian of tirisfal. He is Medivh son after all.

Someone should contact Umbridge and she can deal with these lier's in the best way.... and I'll provide the quills lol.

:D Harry Potter <3
I once described Blood Elf females as Umbridge, too sweet and overpowering. In fact, sort of like Gnomes.

I would disagree here. If Thrall were in a position where he was unable to lead(I.E. Missing or Dead) Saurfang and Nazgrel would be very likely to take up the mantle of Warchief if Garrosh didn't, or if the events transpired as have been proposed. And not only would the take it up, they would do it out of respect for Thrall and the New Horde. I maintain though that I don't see Rexxar as the Warchief.

All this talk about Rexxar just got me thinking. If Garrosh did become Warchief and killed Cairne, how would Rexxar react? What would he do?
A lot of people, myself included, seem to have forgotten about the Champion of the Horde - So where was he at the Argent Tournament, playing Happy Families?
He was sitting... twiddling his thumbs... in Outland. He and Nazgrel should have been moved to Northrend with the release of Wrath in my opinion.

Rexxar is a leader of the Ogre Clans in Outland, he was never happy in Azeroth. It would take something huge to get him to leave his home in Blade's Edge and come back to Old World.

Something like a rift in the Horde? The death of a major figure within the Horde? A full-scale war between the Alliance and the Horde? A Cataclysm?
Those all sound pretty big to me.

No, it would take something happening to his people; either their being captured and dragged back to Azeroth, or someone comes in and slaughter's them all and he has to return. Again, Rexxar hated being in Azeroth, he's found his home now, and he would much rather stay there. He never asked to be Champion of the Horde, it was given to him. Yes, if Thrall dies he might return to hunt down the killers, but then he would go right back to his people.

Do you think he would come back to aid the Horde if Thrall asked him to? Maybe even give him Rokhan as a partner like the good old days?

Possible, but Thrall has never been one to force someone to do something he know's they don't want to (controlling Garrosh's bloodlust doesn't count). Like I said, it would take something huge to Rexxar himself to get him to come back to Azeroth. I get that people want him back, but the half-ogre is happy where he is.
As for the other guy, I don't actually know much about him, beyond what I read on wowwiki so I don't know why he isn't back. Of course you could ask why Trollbane is still in Honour Hold so....
