With 3000AP, it does about same damage. With less than 3000AP, Con Shot is a DPS increase. Over 3000AP, it is a lose.

So it is all about your AP.Uh, it's pretty much impossible to have less than 3000 AP without doing it on purpose, so it's a moot point really. Conc. isn't worth it.

In PVP, your target WILL be coming after you, and not fightng your pet. If you don't have the time to get off those steady shots before he gets inside your gun range (which CS will give you) it's still worth it. You're firing channelled shots, and you're worried about a measly GCD?

Maybe? It's pretty obvious that it's a non-issue for any real player. My wife's un-specced Hunter that hasn't been played since like February has 3600 AP or something. =p

Never stacked DOTs before, have you? The OP used a Castsequence, I suggested an improvement.Since Autoshot is on, the GCD ain't gonna affect your DPS THAT much. If it does, Might I suggest getting a better gun or ammo, since you're autoshots are obviously not up to snuff.

Except that using Conc. as you added it is a DPS loss, and costs more mana. It's flatly worse than it was before you made the change.

Conc. shot is useful in PvP, but only a retard would use a castsequence in PvP. However in PvE, conc. shot isn't all that useful unless you are under that AP benchmark, as wildhorn pointed out.

I would say that the discussions about the Hunter class in relation to concussive shot/steady shot is pretty moot, in relation to the "WTF are you doing spamming steady shot" question. Discussing whether adding increases or decreases DPS is pretty pointless when you are increasing or decreasing the lowest DPS shot on tap currently.

This discussion is about concussive, so I'll ignore the rest.

Now, assuming 6k attack power, which any normal Hunter (should) have.
You have the skills Explosive Shot, Serpent Sting, Black Arrow, Aimed/Multi Shot, Rapid Fire, Hunters Mark, Kill shot. ALL of these are always better to use then Steady Shot. If you don't agree, gtfo and go play HKO.

Now, even when standing still, there will not be a single @#$%ing time that you can cast concussive shot and Steady Shot without wasting another skill since you spend 1+1.5+1 = 3.5 seconds just on doing that for a little damage boost.

Also, about the people saying /cast sequence is bad. It ain't since you never cast more then 1 steady in a fight without having another shot between it first.

That's right...play the Tard Card...that's the way to win an argument. It's cruise control for cool.

Every single macro function is usable for either PVP or PVE. If the OP wants to use a castsequence that spams steady shot, that's his choice, not yours. Making a suggestion to improve what he SEEMS to want to do is what the forum is for, not whining and moaning that steady shot sucks, etc.

You're completely missing the point of the macro. It's not there to make a 1-button hunter. It's there to time the serpent sting. There's nothing preventing the player from hitting other buttons while that macro is mid-way through it's sequence.

Secondly, conc shot is a situational ability. I won't pretend to know the hunter class inside and out (mine is only in his mid 60's), but I can tell you right now that the wrong thing to do is have your most useful melee deterrent bound into a macro. The last thing you want is for that ability to be on cooldown at the wrong time because you shot it off too early. It's the same type of move as kick, blink, or charge. It's something that's used on-demand in PvP, not something that should just be shot willy-nilly. While not using it may lead to a loss, trying to use it when it's down because your macro fired it too soon is going to lead to more.

Lastly, you're arguing with the OP over the purpose of his macro. There's a saying in customer service that "the customer is always right" When you write a macro for someone, you should be giving them exactly what they asked for. If what they asked for seems odd, still give it to them, but also make a suggestion as to how it could possibly be improved. Don't ever tell them that they shouldn't be using a macro because such-and-such is better. Just a tip :P
