I've always tanked as a druid, so this is not for me, but what's the advantage of having this 1.88 ratio of dodge / parry?

I've found some info in
http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f63/40003-diminishing-returns-avoidance.html
As far as I've read, dodge rating and parry rating grant the same amount of avoidance / rating.*
Also, since DKs get parry from STR, they don't benefit as much from parry rating, which will receive more diminishing returns. So they should look for dodge rating preferably.
This ratio only works for Paladins and Warriors.
Edit:
I've found the answer to my previous question:
Dodge and parry rating grant the same amount of avoidance / rating, but that's only BEFORE diminishing returns. Dodge has a higher cap than parry, in a ratio of app. 1.88. Thus, maintaining this ratio will keep you from getting more diminishing return than necessary, and grant the best avoidance / rating possible.
Note that any tank with mediocre avoidance will be affected by these diminishing returns.
