Dealing with frost nova

I tried doing some 2v2 with a friend and found that almost EVERY 2s team had a frost mage. The amount of frost novas that they can do is just downright ridiculous. I counted 4 frost novas each round of CDs (not counting cold stap), more than I have CDs to counter them. I open on them with garrote, break ice barrier, novaed, then CoS, possibly vanish or just catch him, novaed, then I vanish or whatever to get out of that one, novaed (from range, probably his elemental's frost nova), trinket, and his frost barrier is now back up and I will get novaed again if I attack him. if, for some crazy chance, you managed to catch him and he's an idiot, he still CoC you or you have the frost affect.
It is literally non-stop frost novas. How do you deal with it, especially in arena. in arena, you have other people to worry about too, in a BG, you atleast have the element of surpise, in arena, you don't. They know you're there.
The rogue used to be the mage's anti class, but that is far from the truth now. A 3 second silience isn't anything when he isn't taking damage and his frost barrier breakin will nova you whether he is silenced or not.

Speaking from my low arena experience, I'm rarely having difficulty with a mage considering his/her partner is usually the better target to nuke down first.
Btw, a good frost mage has always been able to put up a good fight against a rogue. I'm not sure you can call any melee an anticlass to frost mages.

CoS, Sprint, Escape ARtist, Everyman for himself, Trinket, Dispell, Masters call etc.
these all have CDs and are not all with the same class or race. Thanks for the worthless reply, your name fits you.

My partner is a frost mage, go figure. It was just something we were trying. My question was, how do you deal with it. I didn't know that trinketing a frost nova was fail. Rogue has only been 80 5 days now.
I am able to CoS the first one, then vanish another, but after that, not sure what to do. I haven't found any strats to read about it. Basicly, a frost mage has more ways to nova me than I have abilities to get out of them. I just can't think of how to get out of more than 2 without trinketing.
I can continue being a noob in this situation, or I can come on the forums and ask for advice. If no one will take me seriously or help me here, then I will just take my questions elsewhere. All i am asking is for some strat advice.
Am I to assume that the shield needs to be dispelled and that would be my partner to take care of? The shield comes down, frost novaed, and when I get back to him, the shield is back up or he just frost novas me again. If I break out of frost nova and his is on CD, his elemental frost novas me.
I am just puzzled as to how to counter infinite frost novas. Maybe it's a poor team make up?

1) Trolls did nothing wrong, you didn't give alot of information, just stated that you got nova'd alot. He wasn't aware of your race or setup so he named out cooldowns from what little info he was given.
2) Any half decent frost mage will kill a rogue easily, they have more than enough tricks to get away from you as a melee and even though its hard its just how things are, give it a couple of months and frost mages could be nerfed to the ground (though it isnt likely).
these all have CDs and are not all with the same class or race. Thanks for the worthless reply, your name fits you.
3) Acting like that will only earn you flaming, scorn and ridicule. If answers aren't exactly what you are looking for then thank the user, atleast they took the time to try to help, and just rephrase your question to help them understand it better or provide more information that is relevant to your situation.
Do I have info relevant to your question? Yes, but I think what I have posted already is more than enough for you at the moment.
I'm aware that this post might make me look like an ass but if it serves its purpose its something I'm willing to do

Thank you to all who helped me. This was very insightful. I see now that it's not just what I am doing (although, I might not be performing great) I see now that frost mages are just like that for all rogues. I thought maybe it was just me.
I asked "how do you deal with frost nova", but then some of you failes to read the rest of the post. If you read, you will see that I do all of that, so yes, what Trolls said was a worthless reply and just "trollish" in nature.
You can clearly read it here...

Focus down his partner first.
This.
If you have to deal with the frost mage 1v1, you need to stay on him as much as you can until he blinks.
I usually open with Garrote, Shiv Wound/Crippling on them, Mutilate. It's a decent opening.
When/if Crippling wears off, or get dispelled, remember Deadly Throw is your friend. I crit Mages from 3k-4k damage easily from 25 yards away.
Basically, when I fight Mages, I try to keep either Crippling Poison or Deadly Throw's slow effect on them at all times. I usually save Vanish to break a root AND dodge an incoming spell at the same time.

Mercader has a cool little
video
on dueling Mages that gives you a few tips I found helpful.
little hard to understand, but I got the idea. That does help. I know PvP is about forcing CDs, but just didn't know how to do it.

First of all, trolls gave OP what he asked for. Nothing worthless.
Apparently you can't read either. All he did was repeat what I said in my post. If someone were to repeat what you just said and that's their entire post in a few words, is it not a worthless post? If you say no, then you're just being difficult out of spite.

Trolls wasn't given specific information, just what every rogue can use. Trinket, every rogue can get one. Vanish, every rogue can use it twice if they spec prep. CoS, every rogue has it. Yes trolls gave some bad information, i.e. sprint, but he didn't know what the setup was so yes dispel and masters call were correct answers. Atleast he made the attempt to help, I'm sure there are alot of people who read this thread and didn't post.
except that the OP is in the rogue forums and the rogue is generally a class that is kited (as opposed to hunters and priest who actually do the kiting)
I fail to see how that is relevant to what I said in the quote that you linked.
I asked "how do you deal with frost nova", but then some of you failes to read the rest of the post. If you read, you will see that I do all of that, so yes, what Trolls said was a worthless reply and just "trollish" in nature.
I don't see where you said my partner is a frost mage so we can't dispel or use any of his cooldowns to free me. Once again, his answer wasn't perfect but he mentioned things that you didn't and you mentioned your partner two posts after his so how was he supposed to know? All you did is display ignorance at an attempt to help, if that is the way you wish to act then yes please take your questions to other forums, clearly you want people to read your mind or guess your armory since it is neither in a sig or on your profile before they give the perfect answer to your question.
People took the time to reply to this thread, atleast have the decency to be grateful, lots of others didn't (at the time of this post you had 434 views, 17 replies).
