Does this respect pass over onto BG's, because that would explain why the druids I ran into in AB waved at me and attacked other alliance.

This is like saying if I ever see Vasto(druid who was in my guild, xfered to korgath, then faction swapped to cow....) in a BG, I should try not to kill him? I'm damn well gonna kick his fuzzy little as
s
! Or at least try since he was 2350 rated last season, and I only made it to 2170....

It went away when all the FotM arena rerollers invaded Moonglade in TBC.

To me it kinda ended in BC when druids actually became reasonably good. It still kinda exists between the older players (and still does) but i dont really feel it anymore.

...Just another perfect druid moment.
Nice story, I'd be worried that the female nelf was actually a 53 yr old man in his underpants... but still, nice story =)
I've lost a lot of my auto-respect for other druids because so many of them are terrible, terrible players. I think this is a relatively 'new' phenomenon, but whenever I pug the heroic daily, if there's a dps druid, odds are about 95% that they'll be balance, and if so, odds are about 80% that they'll be under 2k. If you happen to get a Cat druid, odds sit at about 95% that they are a Mangle-spamming baddie.
People like this are the reason I rarely get 'accepted' into VoA pugs or otherwise as DPS, they give the entire class a bad name. It's my (admittedly biased) opinion that Druids are the best example of Performance scaling directly with Skill (in all roles)... the recent FotM flood of new players has definitely lowered our "skill quotient" average.
In the not-so-old days (TBC) I used to see druids and automatically feel some sort of "connection" at least, a /wave or /salute would be immediately understood as "Greetings fellow Druid" -- now I'm more likely to check their spec/gear/gems looking for signs of incompetence.
