My favorite moment was back in Vanilla WoW. I was in a guild running MC and BWL, but for some reason they wiped on Garr. I was a bit late for the raid, so I was still running inside to catch up with the group (along with a hunter). You might remember that at first, you could stay out of combat on bossfights, but later on, they fixed it so that everyone in the instance would get in combat (at that time that meant everyone in combat had slight agro on the boss). So when I was halfway to Garr, I saw the raidmembers die on those good ol' CT_raid frames ;). I thought I was save, but a good 30 seconds after the last one died, I heard someone ask on Ventrilo:"where'd they go to?" and then I saw Garr running towards me, pulling with him every mob they skipped on their way.
I also happen to have a screenshot about that event, to illustrate it all a bit

oh, note: I was playing a pala, so you could guess what I was doing there =)

Wow, I love this thread, haha. Anyway, this is mine - technically, it's two related memories.
Anyway, here's mine. I remember before the Arena event in STV was implemented that I'd g around just for kicks to see what's what on my low level Paladin (was I around 30 or 40? Wow, it's been so long). After a couple of corpse runs from one of the PvP fragfests that commenced that day (a high level Paladin was going wrecking crew with some other people, I think he was around 57 at the time), I rezzed and walked out to continue my levelling.
Lo and behold, a rogue about 5 or 6 levels higher than me ambushes me and starts kicking the tar out of my lowbie behind. I put up a good fight, but he was too geared and my mana was slowly dwindling from spamming so many heals on myself. Mind you, this was before Forbearance, so I blew bot Divine Shield and Blessing of Protection, but he wouldn't let up. But with me down to 20%...
"You have gained Blessing of Protection."
I froze, wondering what glitch gave me a triple bubble, then lo and behold, it was that same high level Paladin who wrecked me so many times, come to save the day. He Hammer of Justiced the poor rogue, and together we beat the living tar out of him, especially considering he blew Sprint and Vanish already to bandage beforehand.
The Paladin mounted up and departed with a /wink and me with a /bow. A long time later, not long after I hit 70, I went back to Gurubashi to see how things were going. It was close to 3am and the chest event was about to start. But yet again, another poor lowbie Paladin was getting beat down by a higher level, this time a 69 Warlock.
I cast Flash of Light on the Paladin and dove in...
And afterwards, I departed with a /wink, him with a /bow and a shiny new arena trinket. Good times. =)

first time i played WoW and got to about level 30 - 31 i finally managed to find STV and got the Nesingwary quests for the first time ever and thought to myself omg this is going to take forever to complete. i ended up not finishing the elite ending parts of the quest til i hit 60 since i was on a new server and nobody was around to group with. til this day i always cringe when i get to stv on a new toon. and blizzard putting it in tbc also was a funny move when i hit nagrand. will it be in wotlk? well i need a beta key for that lol.

My favorite WoW moment was on my first character. I was alliance back then and had to help a friend for a Pally quest. We were very low level.
We didn't know how to get to his destination, we took a boat to Theramore Isle, ran through Brackenwall Village and died several times until we reached the Barrens!

My favorite moment in WoW was when I was around lvl 43 hunter (pre-BC), I was walking around Stormwind Park and the Cathedral, as I was feeling that the music was nice and how the place was calm and not crowded, while I was walking an old friend of mine whispered me saying that she'll start lvling on my server with me like we used to play before in an old MMO game. So I went over to Darnassus and to the starting zone to PL her so we couls start off quick. I spent about 3 hours to get her to lvl 10 that day then we went over to Darnassus to show her the place. It happend that the same moment we got into Darnassus the Horde was raiding it too, we both were amazed but we were trying to fight them out, after 20min they withdraw out, we laughed about it for a while then we started to play Hide-and-seek for the next hour while talking about the old days.
Sad that she doesn't play WoW anymore due to RL issues.
That was my best moment in WoW ever. :)

My favourite WoW moment was when I went to my first raid Pre-TBC, which was ZG.
I got the claw off-hand and was so extremely exited as it was my first epic.

One of the best moments I've had in wow was...
wwaaaayy back pre BC levelling a mage with my rogue friend we decided to 2 person "raid" Freewind Post in 1000 needles...
after a while a bunch of horde came up and trapped us way up on one of the high bridges... seeing a quick escape i jumped off the edge and used slow fall to safety.. my rogue friend thinking it was the cool thing to do followed me in jumping and fell to her death.
many laughs

My favorite wow moment must be my good old memories in "Knights of the capitals" pre TBC. we were a guild who were trying to raid instances like ZG. For some reason it never succeded and instead of raiding we converted to a machinima guild. We were raiding Hooger 40 man using harmless spells for the look. We were having lots of fun even thought we werent that good at machinima making. Anyways the best memory i share with my old maties must be when we fully explored wow lore. We planned a raid which went to all the meaningfull lore places in wow. While we rode by our leaders on teamspeak told us the stories and lore of the places which was a pretty fun marathon. it took seven hours of intense gaming to explore the most of the lore behind this wonderfull game. I hope WOTLK will bring the same amazing lore to world of warcraft players as its former expansion did.

My favorite WoW moment... that is a tough one.
I was leveling up my first main, my Gnome Warrior, Critter. I was playing is STV and was somewhere in my mid-30s. I was so worried I wouldn't have enough money for a mount. At this time I had no idea how to earn money by playing the AH and as a Engineer, crafting was right out the window for making money. I killed a
Crystal Spine Basilisk
and it dropped my first BoE world blue. OMG! I was ecstatic. It was the
Kaleidoscope Chain
and at the time was worth a lot more than it is now. I sold it for 80g and was the proud rider of my first Mechanostrider at level 40.
