My most memorable moment in WoW was leveling my first character, a gnome mage, a few years ago.
I was prone to minimizing a lot while riding between places, and at the time I was riding west through Tanaris. When I brought the game up I came back to me falling into Un'goro Crater, leveling off of the discovery experience and then dying seconds later when I hit the ground. I had to spirit rez but it was both incredibly crappy and incredibly awesome at the same time.

My favorite moment, hrm...I have a few of those, but probably the one that sticks out most in my mind was on my night elf druid whom I never much play anymore, but still got a lot of memorable moments out of.
Myself and some of my guild friends were doing Warsong Gulch at level 38-39, and the guys on the other side were kicking our butt royally with a very quick 2-0 lead. Somehow we ended up with a turtle situation, both sides holding the flag and trying to protect it. A few of the people on our side were ready to give up, and said to just give them the victory, but neither myself nor my friends really wanted to, and we were holding the flag. Since nobody wanted to desert, after a few minutes of failed skirmishes between both sides, we managed to organize ourselves and led a counterattack that went off beautifully, especially since we had a pair of stealthers hang back and as soon as we capped, they captured the flag again and we tied 2-2 and then just went for broke and we all rushed their base for the third capture and then defeated them on the way back, capping for the win.
Nowadays, I don't really enjoy pvp much (Alterac Valley and Arathi Basin really soured me on it), but at the time, it was a novel experience I was very much new to and it felt like an underdog victory that even now I remember fondly.

My favorite moment in my WoW career was on a trip into karazhan early in my rogue's career. We were struggling with moroes, and had an assured wipe at 10% when moroes shifted his attention to the hunter. At this point only me and the hunter were alive. The hunter used feign death and moroes came barreling towards my poor little rogue. I pop evasion and start tanking him. He vanishes and garrotes the hunter, but i use preparation and evasion yet again and keep on tanking him. The hunter dies 1 second before my evasion ends, and moroes dies half a second later. I really love retelling this event because it shows that anything is possible if you keep a level head and try your best.

A long time ago, on the coast of Hillsbrad, I was on my level 30 or so Undead Mage, Scalibane, when a skull level paladin rode by, dismounted, and tried to gank me. I blinked and swam far off the coast, with the paladin right on my tail eager to land a killing blow. As I got to the edge of deep water, I polymorphed him, and if you remember how it worked back then, you would know that he rapidly sank to the bottom of the sea.
He immediately ignored me and tried desperately to get back to the surface. Unfortunately for him, after his bubble, healing potion, and Lay on Hands, a couple of extra polymorphs put him right back to the bottom of the sea. Eventually he drowned about 5 yards from air.
I saw him again a while later, this time though, he rode right past me and left me alone. :)

My most memorable moment was in Kara. Now, I had never seen any of the enchants drop, and had just lost a roll on Mongoose. Suddenly, Surefooted dropped. I lost the roll again, but the winner said to pass it to me. He couldn't use it yet, and I had been trying to get it for a while, it was very sweet of him, and I was quite moved when the leader complied. I was happy for quite some time afterwards. ^_^

My favorite WoW moment would have to be killing Ragnaros and Nefarian. Yes they are two different fights but both fights felt pretty epic at the time. It was extremely satisfying after all the wipes to finally beat these two bosses.

My favorite moment in World of Warcraft was very soon after the game was released.
I was playing my Night Elf Hunter at the time, she was level 30-something I remember.
I joined about a dozen other Alliance players and we travelled to the Crossroads and met the Horde in their own territory. Of course, they were more than happy to fight us.
We did well at first. We coordinated pretty well considering we were a pick up group of newbies. But the Horde soon became too many to handle as word spread to Orgrimmar.
The battle went south pretty quickly as the Horde began to flood the area, and as a long range damage dealer I had a better view to the area than most. I decided to cut my losses and take off, I'd regroup with the raid after I make my crafty getaway.
Well, apparently I had waited ever so slightly too long and the Horde finished off my last ally as I turned tail and ran. So they
all
gave chase.
I'll always remember the view of my Night Elf Hunter, at half health and almost no mana, running as fast as her legs would carry her, desperately trying to outrun the dozens of Orcs, Tauren, Undead and Trolls. I knew even then that there was no way to survive this. But then it came to me! My crafty getaway...
I kept running forward, just waiting for the opportune moment. My timing was flawless. I got hit by some Mage's Frostbolt and immediately hit the dirt, feigning death.
The Horde laughed at me and spit on me before turning around to chase my newly resurrected allies, while I was free to sneak off into the sunset.
I just love a crafty getaway. :)

I can think of many great and awesome memories from playing this game but I think my favorite is one from my first character, a Night Elf Hunter. I've been playing since '04 and part of the reason this memory is so great to me is because it was a while ago and so much has changed in the game since then. Back to the memory, it's of progressing through what still to this day is my favorite quest chain in the entire game, the Rhok'delar, Longbow of the Ancient Keepers
quest chain.
What made the chain so great was learning each of the 4 demon fights as much as you could, and the countless times wiping on them until you could get it just right that you got them down and then the reward at the end just made the whole thing so worth it. I also had some real-life friends backing me up on a few of the demons (of course they can't help you but you can get buffs from them before combat) for moral support etc haha. Another thing I love about the quests is that having completed them and having the bow/staff equipped actually meant something, unlike much of the PvE gear today. You can get decked in T6 in less than a week if you are lucky and still not know your class entirely. Having the bow/staff from the quest showed everyone that you were able to use just yourself and your knowledge of the Hunter class to get you those weapons, it showed that you were a good player, and that definitely means a lot to me. Looking back on it I'd say its the most fun I've had in-game bar raiding in Burning Crusade.
Cheers, good luck to you all.
