The greatest WoW moment ever HAS to be that first epic mount ... I remember riding around for what seemed like days, just enjoying the speed of the travel, the scenery as it passed and the feeling that anything I wanted in the game was possible...

Well, one of my most favorite moments was when I dinged 70 on my pally, then got my flyer and flew around. But that's boring. There was once that I was in Feralas, and a level 40 hunter (I was 35ish at the time) attacked me while I was killing a mob. He got me oom pretty fast, but being the ret paladin I was, I never stopped fighting. We fought so hard, and so long. After I long grueling battle, I was the winner. I was so happy until I realized I had no health left and a poison dot on me. I tried to heal. Not Enough Mana. I tried to bubble. On cool down. Same with potions. I died. Oh well, I still had the satisfaction of killing a much higher level. There was also once that I raided Orgrimmar with some friends and we killed the auctioneers then bubble hearthed. That was fun. Other than that, I just like the game in general. I love how can explore all these nooks and crannies (Wow, did I seriously just say that?) and have the freedom to do whatever I want.

My Greatest moment in World of Warcraft isn't my first mount, my first instance experience, or my first pvp kill. My greatest moment is when I took my first step into Stratholme on my Alliance Hunter. Upon walking into the ruined city, I felt uneasy, somewhat scared that even at 70 I'd get thrashed, and wanted to leave. After turning around, I noted that the exit was sealed off; I had to fight my way out.
When I got to the first batch of enemies; 3 elites and 4 non-elites, I attempted sending my pet in to get aggro, then kill them one by one. They tore my pet apart rather quickly, and I was left alone. I ran back, feigned death, and resurrected my pet. After a few more tries, I succeeded in killing the first group of enemies alone.
As I progressed further in, I took a look at the buildings, the burning rubble, the scorched corpse, and I fell in love with the instance. It has a Halloweeny feel, there are plenty of crazy monsters, and best of all; the music is spine-chilling. I had found my true home in the World of Warcraft. I would quit raiding simply to drop by and try to complete the instance by myself. Several months later, I still cannot solo it on my Hunter because I have too much fun looking at my surroundings.
Stratholme is my home.
Note; I may have signed up rather recently, but this thread was perfect for me to say my favorite moment in Warcraft and actually have it read.

My favorite WoW memory was when i first reached Outland. I was so amazed by how the war with Illidan and Kael'thas was being protrayed. As soon as you step in, its a raging battle from start to finish. One that even branches off onto Azeroth in several places.

my favourite moment while playing was just last week in kara, i was with a guild on their first guild run and i just replied to LF healer Kara, with my newly geared up pally when we got to the maiden fight.
i was a pally and of course was asked to heal during the repentance.... and we wiped.
a few deaths later we were doing well after i started using Holy Light and not flash of light, when at about 10% our tanks died and we just had dps left to try and kill her before she killed us.
it was just me left with maiden on 1%, everyone had given up and called it another complete wipe when i bubbled and pulled out a holy shock followed by a hammer of wrath and downed her.
got no drops from the whole run but loved every bit of it.
