Here I stand, in the middle of Northshire. I am a Paladin, a holy crusader destined to defend the Alliance from the evil undead Scourge. I begin by walking up to the man standing in front of me. Quite an outfit he is wearing, I aspire to someday join the Stormwind Guard as well. Eagerly, I proceed to converse with this man. Ah, so he is Deputy Willem. He informs me that there is evil afoot, and they are in need of a hand. I am told to visit Marshal McBride in the Abbey behind him.
I thank the Deputy and continue in to the Abbey to speak with the Marshal. "Ah, good. Another volunteer. We're getting a lot of you these days." he says to me. "Yes sir! I was sent here by Deputy Willem, sir." "Hah! I've got just the thing for you, citizen. Those pesky Kobold have made a nest in our mines. I want you to thin their numbers. Slay ten of the beasts and return to me." My skin is crawling. I'm so excited. This is just the beginning of my journey as a Warrior of Light!
Little did I know what evils awaited me on my holy quest. Hammer in hand, I persevered. I would spend days without eating, for the sake of completing my mission. I would not fail. I could not fail! Thinking of my family back in Stormwind might have been the only thing that kept me alive.
Several days have passed. I return, stronger than ever. My mission is complete. I want nothing more than to see my family, feel their warmth, but I must report first, and receive my reward.
"What is this?" I screamed. My superior handed me a broken sword. "I'm out there, risking life and limb for you, and this is how you repay me? An old, worn short sword?"
Then I rerolled an Undead Rogue and lived happily ever after.

I used to play on an American server and I live in Australia. One day I was sick and was asked to come to ZG and then to a MC raid with my American guild mates.
They all outgeared the raids greatly and only brought me along for the fun as I couldn't tank anything and my DPS outpu. We downed every boss in ZG in one shot and I got a lot of Bloodsoaked gear and the Bloodlord's Defender (I was a warrior).
Went in to MC and it just blew my mind, the epicness of the raid was amazing. 39 other people, fully decked out in T2, just smashing through the bosses and handing me epics like they were cheap candy to them.
I walked in to ZG with 1 epic (Unstoppable Force) that day and emerged from MC later that night with rougly 5-6 epics.

When I got to level 70 on my first character ever, an Orc Shaman, while grinding mobs at Manaforge Coruu in Netherstorm. I immediately hearthed, rode to Shadowmoon Village, and hopped on a flying mount, which was something I had been wanting to do since day one.

No particular event stands out at the moment, but here's something.
Not long after hitting level 70, I was running Heroic Underbog with a decent group, but unfortunately ended up wiping once. During the swim back through Serpent Lake, I thought I saw something... odd flash before the screen. I froze, and swam back for 2 seconds, keeping the camera angle the same, and there it was. A tiiiny little air bubble, that upon very close inspection, was quite clearly a smiley face. I've never seen it since.

Teh internet ate my first attempt :(
Anyway, my favorite wow moment was
my guild's first Ghost of Aran kill
, way back in the day when that meant something. We had been struggling with the fight for several nights, and we always bungled it, wether messing up the transitions or the stop&go parts of the fight.
But then one night it kinda clicked
. From 50% on down things got blurry for me, right up until I died, at which time I thought "ah well at least we did a bit better." I checked to see what was going on, only to see 2 people were still laying down the hurt on the old man; my IRL best friend (war) and my girlfriend (lock)!
So I ankhed up
(did I mention I'm a shammie? I'm a shammie), healed each of them once, and started my dualwielding dance of death.
Just me and 2 of my favorite people in the whole world, we nailed him
.

I have a lot but, one I really remember was, when I running my friend Sunken Temple on my Retribution Paladin, we got to the boss Jammal'an the Prophet.
As I was fighting him, I get the Hex of Jammal'an. After it expires my friend whose warrior was right next to me, unknowing, that I transformed into a giant troll, and hitting (crit) him for over 10,000 damage!
Right there I couldn't stop laughing, was so funny. Then it reset, after resurrecting him, he stayed on the other side of the room until I killed the boss.

I don't have such misty-eyed moments of sappyness to remember, but there were actually two moments, not just one, that really made me sit back and have a RL LOL. And I can get away with this, because... well, you'll see. And if there's a similar story, well, I apologize. Just sharing to share for the moment, I'll come back and read these others later on in the evening.
I'd just gotten my brand spankin' new Blood Elf Mage up to lvl60, and was finishing up the quest to gather the ravager eggs in Hellfire Peninsula. Everything was going fantastic, really. I hadn't seen a single trace of Alliance in the four levels I'd been in Outland, and I was having a blast with my uninterrupted questing and leveling.
So you can understand my extreme disbelief when I went from full health to dead in one second flat.
If that.
I watched as four Draenei Shaman went running by, all doing the exact same thing as they killed the surrounding ravagers, seemingly just for the heck of it.
I released and checked the combat log, and verified that I had, indeed, been stomped by a very carefully choreographed attack from McEnvy, McGreedy, McLusty, and McWrathy. Suffice it to say, I didn't want to have anything else to do with that particular lineup, so I finished the quest, and called it a night.
Fast forward to me, lvl70, and collecting Fel Glands for Netherwing reputation. I'm out there at the lava pool outside Shadowmoon Village, and again, I get stomped by the exact same team in the exact same way.
Normally, I'd be seriously peeved by this, but I couldn't help but sit back and laugh at just how well planned out it was. That day, I bowed to this guy's serious multi-boxing talents.
