I remember playing my first character, a dwarf warrior, and I was so enthralled by the entirety of my surroundings. After completing my starting zone quests and heading out to Dun Morogh I was more interested in exploring than leveling. I hit up Ironforge and rode the Deeprun Tram to Stormwind. I was so taken aback by the visuals, and yet so overwhelmed. After some more exploring I accidentally ventured into Westfall and having no idea of what was out there I was quickly assaulted and killed by the local wildlife. I remember so vividly running for my life from an angry wolf, buzzard, and mechanical harvester.

I've been a WoW player since the first beta and the game has changed alot since then. One of the more incredible fights I had was in the early stages of the game before any kind of Honor system was introduced. I started on the Thunderlord Realm and my current guild was very PvP oriented and even though there was no system in place we still had great fun engaging in it.
Well Darkshire for some reason lights up like a Christmas tree on World Defense channel so I land with a few friends to check it out, there is at very minimum 40 horde around lv 50-ish (only a few had actually hit 60 at this point in the game) that were lambasting Darkshire, from the alleys, to the roofs, even down in the basement of the inn railing the inn-keeper. The fight was brutal and after a good showing by my guild we managed to push the horde back into Deadwind pass.
This lead to a hectic battle over that small narrow bridge with plenty of priests exercising the then powerful Mind Control to give players a long drop with a short stop. The fight proceeded until it was the Alliance laying siege to Stonard which promptly annhilated our low leveled group with their guards.
The moment stands in stark contrast however when I think back to all my WoW experiences.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I felt I should also add an edit in case anyone is reading these posts about another fantastic memory I've managed to recall about the game.
I'm still with the previous mentioned guild on Thunderlord and now we're one of the top Raiding Guilds pre-BC. Blackwing Lair has still not been introduced and the top-end gear is coming out of Molten Core. The problem was the raiding system was still in some trouble and we kept grabbing split instances for our raid group and would sometimes be unable to resolve everyone into the same instance and have to abandon the raid.
Well, apparently we weren't the only guild with this trouble because we zone into Blackrock Mountain pillaging/burning/etc. etc. And we hit the chain on that island in the middle, there is 40 of us now mind you and we are in some of the best gear the server has to offer. Right at the bottom of the chain is a Horde guild who have recieved a split instance and about 30 of their members are outside the "window" which was the entrance into MC. We back up and try to decide how best to kill every single one of them, when right behind us comes another Horde guild 40 members in total trying to cross the chain onto the island.
So now, our 40 raid members are sandwhiched between 80 organized and fairly well geared horde in the middle of Blackrock Mountain (the scenery is quite epic for those of you who haven't been inside). We're on the small island using the natural chain bottlenecks to hold them off, and we at last decide to use a Paladin Spearhead (this was before the Horde had paladins as well so we didn't think they'de know what was up) We had 6 paladins bubble and charge the horde below us, followed by priests and warriors who dropped fear like it was going out of style. And lastly was the mages (which I was a class leader of) who finished with rampant amounts of arcane explosion. All total we lost about 20 members but managed to wipe the lower horde raid and repel the oncoming raid from above. The fight was of epic proportions : )
Good times,

My favorit memory in wow, is when a bunch of friends and I got together to try scarlet monestary: library for the first time. It was all our first time in an instance in awhile and we had the most misfit group possible: 2 hunters, priest, warlock, and me as a rogue. I ended up tanking it because the pets could not keep threat off on me and the priest was able to keep me alive. It was so much fun just messing around with long time friends in an unorthodox group and actually able to pull it off. We got quite resourceful in doing some of the pulls, especially when adds were involved.
After that success we tried to do the same in armory. . . that ended quickly when we discovered the mobs hit quite a bit harder and kept me disarm made for a perfect recipy for chaos and dead priests. It either has to be that, or when I dropped the same priest in 2 seconds when i got mind controlled in strat home right after popping all my cooldowns. So many good times,

I've been a paladin for the entire time I've played WoW. At first for 2 years on the alliance, side but re-rolled horde when TBC came out last year.
The best thing ever was when I was 3v3'ing with a Warlock and a Warrior, against a RMP combo, when mass-dispel was just discovered to remove bubble. Our warlock was UA specced, and dotted all 3 of our opponents up, who were attacking me. When I bubbled, the priest mass-dispelled my bubble, but ended up killing himself from the 3 Unstable Afflictions he also dispelled from his team-mates. Those were the good days. :-)

It's going to be hard to find just a single point of awesome:
1. During the rush to unlock the gates of
Ahn'Qiraj
, one of the steps was to defeat
Eranikus
in
Moonglade
. Our server, Zul'jin was at the front of the pack racing to get the gates open, but we had our Eranikus bug out on us. We contacted a GM and asked for him to reset the boss for us, but he said he wasn't able to and that we'd have to wait for him to respawn.
Not content with that answer, our guild contacted other guilds (including those from the Alliance) and instructed everyone that was able to meet us in Moonglade and at the predesignated time, we would use our AOE abilities to crash the server.
Suffice to say it worked and we were able to defeat Eranikus and continue moving on with our quest line.

2. Once our guild was particularly bored with raiding. We decided to raid
Stormwind
instead. While this seems to be something that is talked about. It was rarely done with the numbers that we had.
We talked to another guild who rallied up 40 people along with 40 of our own guild members and we all seiged Stormwind and rushed in. Complete pandamonium ensued as the Alliance scrambled to come to the cities defense.
Of course, the real enemy to the Horde was lag as most computers weren't able to handle all the people that crowded inside the church to fight with us. In the end, the Horde had to retreat. No follow up action was ever taken by the Alliance.

3. During our time in Ahn'Qiraj, we had finally downed the
Twin Emprorers
and made it to
C'thun
. Needless to say, we were incredibly excited. Having had ourselves prepared for the fight, we nervously took positions around the door.
We had heard that if you were too close to the door, that C'thun would aggro and we'd be in combat. None of us had any idea of what to expect.
With
FRAPS
running, we started our countdown. FIVE... FOUR... THREE...
The next thing any of us know. We're all dead from a lightning bolt. We started laughing, but we didn't understand what had happened. We later learned that an eager Mage had popped his head out around the door and aggro'd the boss. Luckily it was FRAPSed and later made its way to YouTube.
