Wow it's really hard to come up with one defining moment in WoW as I just seem to have sooo many, but if i had to pick my most favorite moment in WoW it would have to be slightly before the Burning Crusade came out.
At the time I was still relitively new to the whole WoW experience though an avid Diablo player, but this particular day just sticks out drastically. My character was a nightelf mohawk...naw really it was a nightelf warrior around lvl 30 - 35. One of my friends whom i don't see on anymore told me about something big was happening in SW. So I got there as fast as i could and what i came across was mindblowing to me at the time.
There stood like a 100 foot pit lord of some sort (I think it was a world boss), but everyone was just looking in awe seeming scared to deal with it though some had the courage to try and fight him, haha to no avail of course. Even just looking at him he would send shadowbolts your way and say "(insert toon name) I feed off of your energy" lol. I tried as i might but was unable to hurt him, as he killed me dozens of times, but to me it was just amazing to see this huge monster attacking SW. Till this day i don't know if it was a gm or just a script of some sort, but that experience was one of the best moments i've had in WoW.

My favourite moment has to be when my first character made it to south Darkshore and stumbled upon The Master's Glaive.
I just remember thinking how awesome that looked.
I just sat there staring at it for a while.
It's still one of my favourite ingame places and I try to go back for another look whenever I'm in the zone.
Two runner ups:
Seeing the spirit Ancients that spawn for the hunter Lok/Rok quest chain when I was first questing in Felwood. They were huge and seemed to be standing in council, or judgement, of the toon that summoned them. I had no idea what was going on, but it was very cool.
And actually getting to DO that questline. Defeating each demon, and especially the Silithus one, was a huge rush. I felt like I finally really knew what I was doing as a hunter. I still have all 3 rewards and they will always have a place of honor in Amberfire's inventory. :)

My favorite moment in WoW was the first time my guild downed Major Rejaxx in AQ20. We were never a hardcore guild but we'd been attempting AQ20 and ZG for several months. We worked hard and fought and complained and cried "NERF" many times on this boss. I'd taken over leading the raid because our previous leader had gotten burnt out because of all the failed attempts. This one night it finally clicked. I don't know how, but we were all in the "zone". I was yelling on vent the fear order for our priests and locks. Calling out for mobs to be rooted for tanks to pull mobs off of our healers, for MORE FRIGGING DOTS. We survived the waves and then came the boss himself. We were able to beat him the first time we'd ever survived that long. I was very proud of my guild that night.

I think my favourite moment was my guilds first illidan kill. Wiping < 5% because people in the raid got so excited about killing him. It stopped us for a while but we finally did it. My guild was in like the top 30 in the world to kill illidan. It was so cool because there is so much lore behind illidan and seeing him fall to his knees at 1% was an awesome feeling and achievement. Him having warglaives isn't a bad thing either :P

My favorite moment...
I would say would be when the guild my level 60 gnome mage was in finally downed Nefarian. I remember we had been working on him for a long time, and even though we were not the most progressed guild on the server seeing him die. I remember this moment because the Staff of the Shadow Flame dropped and I had the highest dkp out of all the casters that were there so it went to me. After getting that staff I wasn't able to replace it until way after The Burning Crusade was out. That fight in my mind is still one of the most entertaining fights in the game. With everything he did downing him for the first time was truly epic.

When I’d first started playing wow I’d never assumed I’d be able to make it into any of the end game raid dungeons. A friend and I were surfing the web looking at the various pieces of armor and I feel in love with the Bloodfang rogue set.
After a while I’d managed to get with a good raiding guild and started picking up pieces of Bloodfang. As soon as I’d received the 8th and final piece of the set I declared to my guild that I’d won WoW and need to watch the credits to make it final.
When the final line of the credits rolled past saying that “no pixels were harmed in the making of this game” that had to be my favorite moment in the game.

One of my most memorable moments was when I was doing my first pre bc raid zg, I was so excited because I got to see how much time they put into one of the lower teir raids and i was amazed at the bosses, I enjoyed how they made the armor sets look unique and how they made their first fishing skill required raid boss Gahz` Ranka. I was only a 59 druid at the time and I had the time of my life.
It took a while to get to know the boss fights but it was fun grouping with my friends.
Note: I also dinged 60 that zg and i was so happy and excited.

My favorite moment was back in the day, when i entered The Barrens with my first character, a tauren shaman, and saw alot of people spamming "LFG WC" or other variants, which i thought were lame jokes. Later i discovered wc actually means wailling caverns and that it was an instance so i got a group and had so much fun killing through bunches of raptors and druids.

My favorite moment in wow of all time was back when running UBRS was a big deal on my server, my rogue had just turned lvl 57, she was my only character at the time. I had managed to talk a UBRS group into letting me into their Rend run, i was hoping for a Dal rend sword or the Cool looking eye patch, instead a Fel Striker dropped, I was the only rogue there i won the dagger but not after a shaman tried to roll on it and proceeded to never stop playing my rogue :D

I, for the longest time, thought that WoW had to be the dumbest game I'd ever laid eyes on, my friend played, my girlfriend played, and I just wanted nothing to do with it. But low and behold, I get my own account and 4 short months later, I'm running around Alterac Valley with my level 70 hunter and my frost saber I'd had since level 10. Just looking at my hunter and being proud of the accomplishment, probably the best wow moment of my life.

My favorite moment in World of Warcraft was when I found out that druids could get a special flight form! I was so excited; I knew virtually nothing about druids when I created one. Heck, at first I didn't even know that there was such thing as cat form or prowl. I was a "noob" in every context. I stuck with the game and ended up getting that flight form that I really wanted and now I enjoy performing "rawrbombs" on horde every day!
(Rawrbomb = shifting out of flight form into bear form and feral-charging a target before I hit the ground, thus taking no fall damage and surprising an unsuspecting horde with a bear-in-the-face. Also fun to knock people off their flying mounts and watch them fall to the ground as I shift to flight form and glide away.)
