My favorite moment in WoW...
Was actually, at first, my worst moment in WoW. It was about a year and a half ago, I was in a small raiding guild with all of my RL friends. We were moving steadily through Karazhan, and moving into 25 man raids. On this fateful night, I won a T4 helm, barely getting it over one of my RL friends who just so happened to be negative DKP at the time. So in my usual fashion, I gloated and bragged about my very first PVE epic, and I logged off happy. This is when the terror began.
When I woke up the next day, I logged on to look at my pretty new epic, and to check my current auctions when, to my horror, I found my character in the character list dead. I then looked at the Zone, and it said Ironforge. So, for a moment, I thought I was either dreaming, or I got hacked. So I log on, and interestingly enough, I was standing right on top of the throne of Ironforge, with my body lying nearby. Being a pretty fresh 70 at the time, I had not had the free time to have ever been to Ironforge, so I was thoroughly lost. After a little while, I found my way out, and found the Graveyard. At this point, I realized I was going to take a repair hit, but found that I was very naked. I took the Spirit Res, and went to teleport to Thunderbluff (I live on top of the TB mailbox, I'm the mailbox troll) to find that I have nothing in my bags but level 1 water, and my mount. I also don't have my hearthstone, so I being the journey back to Thunderbluff. It took about 20 minutes, but I ran naked from Ironforge to Korgath. Flew to Stonard, got some teleport runes, and teleported to Thunderbluff.
The entire time I was running and flying, I had this dread in my heart; "If I was hacked, all of my epics are gone, I'm done for, this is it." So it was a scary moment when I went to my bank to find.........................................everything that was in my bags the night before was there. Everything was fine, and when my friends got on Ventrilo, they told me what they had done (they got my password somehow), and they offered me 10g for the experience. At the time, I was incredibly *!@#ed off, but ever since, I always look at that moment and laugh.

My first character was a night elf hunter. I couldn't have accidentally picked a better way to be a noob. But anyway, I started out on a server with some friends right when TBC had come out. My friends wanted to see my character when I was only level 5 or so, so they summoned me from Teldrassil all the way into Stormwind.
Seeing my first city, especially the busy Trade District in Stormwind, was pretty awesome, it had such a strong MMO feel that I had never experienced before. I leveled in Elwynn, but eventually I found out I had to go somewhere to train my pet taming skill: back to Teldrassil. I did not know mages could portal me, so I asked around how I would go back to Teldrassil. I started this huge journey on foot, going to Ironforge, and then walking all the way through Dun Morogh, Loch Modan, and then Wetlands to the boat to Darkshire. I had to ask for directions along the way, which made it all the more epic. Along the way, I died a couple of times, got ganked, and saw all the terrain. I just followed the road and eventually I got to the boat, and back to Teldrassil through Darnassus. That trip gave so much to look forward to in leveling, in all the zones. I saw crocolisks and thought, "wow, I wish I could kill that." Now I have 3 70's, none of which are my first Night Elf Hunter. I deleted him a long time ago.

Heh, My favorite moment was when i was lvl 60 with my character(Pactum, LVL 70 NE Mohawk!)
My guild on the realm Thunderhorn, Dark Sanctum was its name, was progressing well in ZG(this is B4 even Black Wing Lair came out). I had just gotten my Halberd of Smiting(
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19874
) from Bloodlord Mandokir; when our RL at the time said to us "Hey, why dont we all attempt the Tiger Boss,"(you could attempt different bosses, as long as you cleared the trash to them, think Kara B4 BC came out)
We were all Stoked to hear that, and of course said Bring It On!
so we start clearing...B4 you know it we are sitting there, High Priest Thekal is in front of us, going over the strat.
Then we were all in our places, and BAM! the pull starts...i grab my assigned Zealot and get to tanking... hit after hit, whack after whack, we pummel them all down, at about 8% the all-together is sounded...ooo im still shaking remembering this...and we bring them together perfeclty, all go down, no one repops.
Now it's the Big Guy's turn...i switch to dps, and let the MT grab the Tiger Boss once he pops back up...once MT picked him up we went all out ...and after about 30 mins(boss doesnt have a timer) he was at 15%
we were all, OMG OMG We're going to do it! and sure enough, another minute later, BAM! TIGER BOSS DEAD! ZOMG ONLY 2ND KILL EVER ON THE SERVER WEWT!
no tiger mount dropped that day, but O M G that was an awesome event. Still sticks out in my mind firmly. it was awesome; To have the 2nd server kill, and 1-shot on a boss in ZG...I'm still proud of that guild, to this day!
another kind of funny memeory was when a RL mage friend of mine and I were seeing how far we could drop from our dragons and not die in Shatt...well, i was bored and about to log, so i went up high enough to not see anything but the sky and my dragon, and fell naked and died. well, my mage friend knew how to glitch blink and not take dmg when falling....anyway, he hops off his mount to as im falling naked beside him. Well, as he is falling, i hear him on vent go, O Crap, where is my Blink button!....Long story short, SPLAT! and he had to repair, while i was fine, cuz i was nekked. i still laugh when i remember that. xD

My favorite moment would have to be taking my first character(a human Mage) to Stormwind for the first time before i knew about all the hostility know as trade chat. The sheer sight of the city combined with the atmosphere set by the music sealed the deal on me subscribing to WoW.The people walking around, the familiar feeling of going somewhere for the first time and seeing the sheer size of the city only added to my growing love of the game. Sadly friends rerolled horde and I've been regretting it ever sense.

I have two, one for my first ever character and one for my most recent.
First is for my Warlock, all the way back in March 2005. I had just turned level 30 and had the rather impressive task (at the time, considering I knew very little about the game) of getting all the way to Wetlands to do my Felhunter quest. Well, Wetlands looked to be quite far away from where I was at the time (STV) so I swam....all the way up the coast, spending nearly an hour and a half getting there. When I finally did get there, I met a rather nice Hunter who was farming for the red dragon whelp, after he asked why I was there and I explained my predicament, he offered to help. This Hunter was rather odd though...he was perhaps the only full Survival Hunter at the time...back when Lacerate was the 31 point talent. So he melee'd however many Orcs (it was quite a lot, very low drop rate for the quest at the time) but after perhaps the single longest questing experience I had while leveling up (there was no Hinterlands troll killing fiesta back then) I finally got it done. Good times.
The second was just about a month ago, I was leveling up my druid in Nagrand when I got the quest to kill Durn. At this time of night the raids had just finished, so many people were on their alts and there were people all over the area. I got a group of my feral druid and a 70 healer and dps and we went on down to kill Big Ugly really quickly. When I got there, I saw that there had to be at least 4 other groups doing him, all of them were Alliance however. Following an emote frenzy, my two friends and I decided to simply help them all kill the guy in the hope they would return the favor. About 25 minutes later, our turn is up and it seems as though we are on our own. I get a whisper right when we are about to attack him and find out that several of the alliance guys logged onto their Horde chars and were on their way over to help. Hurray for people helping people :)

I'd have to say my favorite WoW moment would be back before TBC when my old guild was raiding AQ.
One night the servers were acting goofy making a boss fight near impossible so we ended up sitting in a circle playing duck-duck-goose. After the server went offline all of us created undead characters on another server and rode the zep to Grom'Gol. We then swam up to Westfall and terrorized anyone we saw as we made way to Elwynn. We attempted to kill Hogger (can't remember how that went) and we chased around allies all over the area until we ran into another raid group of human females that were about 5 levels higher than us.
There are many stores I could share but that is probably the best.

A long time ago, in a time before rogues had shadowstep, i was questing on my first and favorite wow character, troll hunter named Thrurakk, in the echo isles with my rl buddy a lvl 12 undead mage who was helping me out who i thought was really good until we were slapped up by that rare spawn shark with the odd silver dragon around his picture which i thought was the strangest thing but thats when my mage friend introduced me to elite monsters so he whispered one of his friends in his guild "The Voodoo" and his lvl 60 epic shadow priest friend led us into the heart of Orgrimmar to a portal that i will never forget, The Ragefire Chasm. The graphics in here i thought were insane compared to the plain old desert i was running through earlier. After filling up my bags with greens and an awesome experience for a first instance i felt pretty dam good of myself so i logged off and rested on it.

For me it was probably the first time I ever tanked a raid boss. I started playing after TBC went live, so I didn't get to do any of the old school instances. But The boss in question was Attumen in Kara, and I was so nervous, I mean, this was a RAID boss, and I had never even tanked a heroic. We wiped once on the stables trash (yeah I know) But the boss went down without a hitch, and I even managed to tank Maiden the same night (although the OT outrolled me on the gloves >.<)
I would also have to say the first time I set foot in stormwind was pretty close second though, my first toon was a human mage, who I still have yet to get to 70. Everything was so huge and majestic, and had such an Epic feel to it, the music really tied the whole place together.
