Combat (preferably swords) for levelling, hemo if you must, but certainly not using daggers no matter which tree you're following.

isn't a dagger a staple of rogues?
Not for levelling.
Not so much for PVE... combat daggers and combat mutilate can both do fine, but they're not optimal.
Not really for PVP either, at least until they give us access to a proper dagger spec other than mutilate (which now needs a reworking). Resilience is simply killing off the viability of any dagger based builds in PVP, as they all tend to rely on crits.

Keep in mind that you can save bandages by having a mage make you a stack of food before heading out to quest. As Foozah said, don't be afraid to use your cooldowns. As your gear gets better, your downtime will decrease and you won't need to bother with stunning the mobs you're fighting.

For farming? Open with cheap shot and use the points from it for a slice and dice straight away, and use instant poison on both hands (deadly doesn't have enough time to stack up and tick through, crippling and wound poison are for PVP).

I only use crip OH when runners could cause problems. Otherwise it's isntant.
If I'm doing a cheapshot-slice&dice routine, should I just evisc with further CP's? I doubt I'd accumulate even 5 before the mob was dead.
Pretty much yeah, for farming/levelling just eviscerate when you get to five, if you get to five.
