With heroic and pre-raid gear, unholy will give you better results. But as far as that spec goes, that's pretty much it. Another accepted blood spec you might want to look at is

, trading off the extra rp cap for 6 extra disease seconds, which are actually quite helpful with your rotation, allowing you to chain off 4 heart strikes in the second part before re-applying diseases. Also, you might want to move a point from morbidity to BcB, as that provides a better dps gain.

IMO at least, Blood tap glyph is a waste since your main attack uses blood runes. Raise Dead glyph is pretty good, go with that. at the beginning of boss fights, and whenever the cd's up, its a good idea to summon a ghoul for the 1 minute it lasts, seeing as it costs nothing for a pretty good dps increase.

Don't listen to him. Bloodworms is much better DPS gain and better overall for a DPS than VB and Imp Blood Presence. Not only that, but VB and Mark of Blood that he included both require a blood rune, which means less blood strikes. So using those is actually a dps loss.

Totally agreeing with Belhemel, bloodworms is really unnecesary you don't need the healing at all and they may get you into probs! :p
Runic power mastery though I say is good since it gives you a few seconds more drw aswell as lets you get more rp before you need to dump it!
And before you consider speccing blood you should have high armor penetration

In raids, if your bloodworms are getting your raid wiped or you killed, then somethings wrong with the healers and tanks. I've been in just about every raid with blood worms, and they havent caused anything bad yet.
High ArP is not a requirement for blood. It is, however, the highest weighted stat behind strength, and many pieces do have it.
Finally, getting room for an extra DC in your RP is a waste IMO, because you really shouldn't be needing that extra room to keep you form capping on RP, considering you have DC and DRW to dump with. Also, that extra little bit of RP cap is better spent extending your diseases, or making your DC more damaging. If you bail out on Epidemic, then you won't be able to pull off the current best blood rotation. If you are RP dumping correctly, then the bonus to DC damage will outweigh another 30 RP.

The guides on EJ are written by the very knowledgeable people, and are very reliable. That extra health from VB won't do much good, and here's why:
Most bosses require 2+ tanks. Lets say one tank goes down. That tank is enough for the healers to pop a brez. If there is no brez available, it doesn't matter. You're wiping, especially on fights with stacking debuffs, or where the tanks have to taunt off of each other.
If you're on a trash pull, Frost presence + AMS + IBF should be enough to get the mobs under control, if not buy your raid enough time to down them before you die. Those extra 10 seconds or so won't make a difference, you'll either wipe or you won't. If the rest of the dps arent complete nubtards and have no idea about their classes, you'll be fine.
In any situation, VB will not make or break your raid surviving that pull. Not only that, but VB is a waste of a blood rune. So not only is taking a talent out of something to put in VB a slight loss in dps for that, but it also messes up your rotation.
The only time i would recommend VB would be in a blood build for early heroics, when raids are out of the question. It can help there. Yet, blood is a sub-par choice for heroics, when Unholy will do not only better single target dps, but better on the many trash pulls. Seeing as the OP is starting raids, if he is going blood instead of Unholy, which might be better for his gear, VB will hurt his DPS and not improve the raid's survivability.

I too pug the majority of my raids. The many times i've had to step up to save my raid i did so without VB.
Im not saying you wont ever be able to save a raid, even with VB, im saying that the majority of situations that can be saved do not require VB. For instance, if your on trash pulls and your tank dies, IBF and AMS should be enough for most adds. However, if your tank dies early in a boss fight, VB for a bit will not make up for a complete lack of tanking stats such as being def capped, parry, or dodge.

Higgs, before you play this mr most awesome player ever, I think that you should get some raid-experience to start with and get an opinion of your own! :)

Tyrfiing, before you play this condescending attitude, i do have raid experience, and this is my own opinion. :)

I'm trying o give the OP reasons why VB is not necessary. The OP asked for spec recommendations and opinions. Belhemel is offering his point of view and his arguments for why VB is a good idea instead of going with bloodworms, and I am offering mine for why VB is unnecessary.
I'm just angry at Tyrfiing for telling me to GTFO in a condescending way without bringing any constructive discussion to the thread.
