For lack of other answers, I'll say that in my past experience as a rogue I always found a combat Daggers build to give the most DPS.
HOWEVER.
I haven't played a rogue since before TBC and that means there was no level 70 then.
Things have probably changed since then, so you're probably better off waiting for a more up to date rogue gives you an answer.

Actually as caffeinated stated above is rediculously acurate. Assassination, to tell you the truth is not really that great in PvE period. Now its fun as hell, I am specced assassination now. The reason me going back to assassination, after a massive success in PvP with it, is because at level 66 in outlands, you will not believe, the lack of swords, I tried combat dagger's, just as boring, but i actually experienced LESS dps then swords, but more then assassination. I seriously doubt that is because my dagger's suck, (High warlord's, and another very close in Dps, blue). When I was swords, to tell you the truth, i still had high warlord's in Off-hand, and a green swords i found in outland. Even with one sword, Dps was around 380 raid, 360 world. Now dps at an all time high, trying diffrent way to use my mutilate to my CB generating advantage, I have Maxed at 280, I was shocked. The Best formula I actually found was, cheap, wait for posion to apply, Mutilate, Kidney, If i get the free CB slice n dice, mutialte, sinister, Evis (or Envenom if high armor). My advice, Grab the High warlord's blade, from PvP, will take two days, just do it, you want the off hand fine, but there are two quest that give you two swords, main hand stinks, but you can use the fast off hand swords, to hold you over until you get a drop. I strongly recommend the High warlord though, Its possible for it to last you until 68, very possible, and its the only way to go, I was "awsome" in raids, at 62, now I am, meh, a rogue, no one looks at my like a fantastic dps class, which keeps me from raid's until i grab some swords. GL man level!
