Ok i posted more of those in the past.And i will take consideration of all the comments people game me. First of all i thought it out well, and i would like to present you my idea.
Races that can become Demon Hunters
Horde :
Blood Elves
Orc's
Alliance :
Night Elves
Human's
-Side note : Lore is quite custom and i have not idea if there is any true lore behind Demon Hunters
Lore
: Demon Hunters are warrior's trained
for hundreds of years in the emerald dream honing
their ability of killing and manipulating the magic of their
enemies, and use demonic energies to their will.
The Green Dragonflight trained them to destroy
the burning legion , many of them become crazed
and betrayed Ysera.
Ysera , has now problems withing her realm
, the emerald nightmare take immense size
and is afraid that it will reach and corrupt the
eye of Ysera.
Desperate she resurrected fallen Heroes
and trained them into Demon Hunter to hunt the
demonic monster that nighmare created, slowing
down the nightmare and helping Ysera get a beter plan.
Main Attributes of a Demon Hunter
Weapon Skills : Unlike most classes demon Hunters only wield one hand swords . And can equip up to 4 blades to form their unique Warglaives
Energy type : Energy and Mana
Passive Attributes
Demon Hunters use mana for their spells and
the manipulation of their enemies magic.
And energy to use there physical damaging
abilitys.
Agility gives 0.5 intellect per point
Intelect give 0.5 agility per point
Stamina gives 0.1 agility and intellect
Spec's
Obliteration
: Improves the physical damage out put
Devastation
: Uses and manipulates the magic of the enemy
Demonize
: Focuses on the demonic power of the Demon hunter
Obliteration Tree Samples
Passive Quad wield
:The demon hunter has 4 weapon slots 2 of wich act as main hand and 2 as off hand. Weapon Damage is Halved. The swing speed is decided by the off hand.
Sinister Slashes :
Slash with Warglaive4 times dealing weapon dmg + X physical dmg. Causes the target to bleed (Open wounds) dealing X dmg over 30 sec. Cannot use while the bleed effect exists( 60 energy)
Passive Open Wounds :
You see the weak points of the enemies,physical dmg done to the target increased by 20%
Demonic Blood :
Use you're blood to enrage you're Raid/Party members Increasing their overal dmg done by 40% for 6 seconds (uses 35% of youre health and bleed for another 25% of you're health withing 25 seconds , 10 min CD)
Rip Flesh :
Rip the enemies skin and flesh.Deal 60% dmg + X physical dmg ignoring all armor of youre enemie,causes (Open wounds)
Devastate Tree :
Mana Burn :
Burn the mana of you enemy by X and burning them X damage over 25 seconds( Arcane and fire DMG)
Reflect :
Reflect the spell cast upon you to another enemy
,the spell is absorved and can be released at own will withing 30 seconds. The spell loses 40% of its total dmg and cannot crit( 15% base man 45 sec CD)
Nightmare :
Show youre enemy a horible nightmare making them take X shadow dmg
Soul Burn :
You're enemies loses the will to fight making them deal 75 % less dmg for the next 15 second but silencing you for 5 seconds of all spells and abilities ( 3% base mana 4 min CD ) Bosses and Elite mobs deal 20% less dmg but dont trigger the silence effect.
Passive Mana absorbent : Chance on hit to get 2% of maximum Mana
Demonize :
Demons agility :
dodge chance increased by 15% for 10 mins ,can be cast on Allies ( 2%base mana and 25 agility)
Wind Walk :
become invisible and move 25% faster for 40 seconds. Deals X physical dmg upon attack ( 30 energy , 1% mana per second)
Demon Strike :
Savaga strike Dealing X chaos and Y physical dmg plus the combined attack of all 4 weapons ( 5% mana 75 energy 45 sec cooldown)
Demon Missiles :
Send chaotic bolts to youre enemy
dealing X chaos dmg.
Demonic Intelect
: Change youre attack power to spell power for 2 min ( 4% base mana )

Playd both games ,none had any lore behind demon hunters.
The only demon hunter in these 2 games was Ilidan. And yeah as for the demon part i couldnt get any good ideas.And i say you didnt read most of it.

Demon Hunters are very likely to become a heroclass, and should they be in the next expansion, having them start around the Black Temple would be quite fitting (branching off from Illidan as Death Knights did from the Lich King). Could very much be possible if the next expansion is going to be centered around the Islands (Tomb of Sargeras), and such.
I always imagined them as the melee-hybrid fighter wearing cloth (caster stats), using mana in the same way that rogues use energy (a passive skill constantly drained their mana - kinda like the
Obsidian Destroyers
, but gaining X amount of mana per melee-hit).
The whole thing with the glaives could simply be implementing a set of heirloom-like items, that scaled with gear and level. It's certainly doable, and would add a very neat twist.
... oh crap, did I hijack the thread now? :)

Death Knights are supposed to use Runeblades, but we got stuck with regular swords.
I see them as using 1h swords, 1h axes, possibly Polearms and wands just to give them a few more options (but I doubt it)
EDIT: Perhapes they could use a new type of resource? Say Black Arcane (or just Fel Energy, tried to come up with a new name). It could be gained the same way as rage, but only certain spells would raise it up. Say spells that Drained the Mana/rage/energy/runic power/whatever of others.

Not really. You simply start out with the weapons (maybe after the initial questlines), and you hold on to those weapons forever. It may sound dull to have the same weapons forever, but it gives the simple (and lorewise) effect of having the same blades as when your training was completed. Also, they simply look badass.
Besides, where else would you get truely unique weapons?

Starting point would be like this then : Start out as a initiate that only has the attack and some other beginer skills, through quests you get the help from a demon hunter to do the ritual and become a demon hunter, on the change you lose the initial begginer skills you had and get the demon hunter skills. After a few other demon vanguishing quests youre free to go and be a hordie/Allie.
Gnub, if the glaives dont change there wont be a reason to look up for epic weapons. Its dull and not unique at all. having 2 one handed sword form them is much more unique.

I personally would rather see you keeping a set of weapons. For example at the end of a long quest chain you earn your warglaives and they signify that you are a true demon hunter now. And everytime you level up, they level up with you.

All the weapon ideas fail thus far. A class needs to be able to use at least 4 weapon types (one being unarmed) because of
Master of Arms
.
Only being able to use one type of weapon can't be done because then this would have to turn into a feat of strength or something.
Easily fixed by giving them the weapon, but allowing for swords, daggers and maces?
That doesn't stop the idea of having the glaives with them at all times.

Just so you know, wind walk is a blademaster ability that does the same thing in Warcraft III.
