Woodworking
Just read this and i gotta say it does make a lot of sense to add this to the game in next expansion Cataclysm. It may be tricky to implant but it would fill a void of some of the reason mentioned in the article.
This is something i hope they will implant really, if not expansion at least the expansion after wow(if there will be one).
This is all from me, just thought this idea was good to promote for discussion and thoughts on.

Then another one will not hurt and i cannot see any on the two first pages. Perhaps there is one on page 3, but seriously i think this is a good suggestion and i wanted to promote it.

This is would be a great addition, although we have nothing right now to use the wood, and it would be worthless. I am sure Blizzard does not want to add at least two additional profs.

are you serious? woodworking? really? If i want to sit around and chop wood endlessly theres a
much cheaper alternative
. coming from a person who used to play that game im extremely disappointed if thats where the future of WoW is
Well, you don't have to sit around mining ore, skinnin cats, or pickin herbs either, but it's a way to advance your character while you do other things in the game. If right clicking on a tree every so often would extremely disappoint you, then by no means do it.
I love the idea, though. Using wood to create staves, bows, housing (eeps, I don't mean to open
that
can of worms) BoE trinkets, shields, mounts (trojan horse? lol) would be kind of cool.

The question of Woodworking was posed at Blizzcon in the professions panel, and Ghostcrawler's response was that it will probably never happen. At present, they can't envision enough craftable items and perks to make a standalone profession compelling enough for players to pick up over what's already in game.
What we are far more likely to see are crafted staves, bows, and such appearing in existing professions. Engineering was posed as a first logical candidate, but wood items could fit in a couple other places as well. It's still a mystery whether we'll start seeing this in Cataclysm, or a later patch, or if it will even happen at all.
