For the most part, the fact that you have all of those abilities still doesn't fix the problem that if your immolate is dispelled you lose a tremendous portion of your burst as destruction. You can have shadowflame add a 90% snare for 30 seconds, cause all damage you do to heal you for 50% of that damage and cause shadow ward to not have a limitted amount absorbed, make it impossible to stealth/invis within 50 yards of you...if your immolate can easily be dispelled your conflagrate is practically useless and your other abilities do significantly less damage - so you're basically useless unless there are no healers present because you can simply win by attrition.
I'm not saying "omg buff warlocks" but rather, there are weak points that are MAJOR weak points, despite all the strong points you have.

I think anyone who thinks warlocks need a buff needs to practice.
Fear, DC, demonic portal, spell lock, howl of terror / shadow furry, fel domination + VW shield / succy seduce, CoE, CoT, VW consume shadows which owns rogues, health stone + battlemaster trinket anyone can get = 2 hp stones, shadow ward, glyphed shadowflame...........
I mean seriously.
My post was mostly for Demo,
Yet some form of dispel protection is need for demo and destro. Too much dispel protection for destro can easy make it overpower
Aff has good damage out put, but no burst. (out side night fall) the changes will give it 1 or 2 chances to get that needed burst out to kill a low HP target that you have been working down for the last 5 mins. Too much burst that is available too often can make Aff overpowered also

Warlocks are about kiting regardless of spec.
And yes you do have ALL of thoes at your disposal excluding 1 which is traded for spec....CoE or Shadowfury or Felguard intercept / Meta charge.
Demo does decent in pvp...obviously not in arena but I think thats the point. Not all 3 mage specs were made for hard core pvp....not all 3 rogue specs were made hard core for pvp...BM hunters, Fury Warriors, each spec is different for different parts of the game.
Dont get on the band waggon where every spec should be able to do everything in the game and be solid at it.
Affliction shouldn't have burst. Its specifically made for dots and it does very very well at that.
If anyone is having a problem with PVP go duel some classes with the same gear...even your own class. There is a chance there are people alot better and will destroy you...
Skill, macros, Addons and awareness are what makes a class good....pvp or pve.
2 much balancing will ruin the game.

Yes every single class has MAJOR weak points....thats the point of having different classes.....

Too much balancing will ruin the game...I can understand the concept of overcompensating or homogonizing ruining the game, but too much balance isn't possible IMO. I'm not suggesting no class should have a weak point, but that the weakest points should be buffed. This isn't just for warlocks, but for all classes which have points like that.

Why not? I don't see a reason why, with balance, all 3 trees can't have competitive PvE and PvP viability. I know it doesn't always happen, but I don't see why having that as a goal is a bad thing.

Right, and I agree with you especially in Cata where healing and damage will both be a smaller portion of player's health pools (thus you can actually drain a healer by continuing to use dots). However, in WotLK, burst is needed as DoTs are easy to heal and overall don't do a whole lot more DPS than the more direct-based builds. PvP is about burst, especially right now.

I'm a little confused as to what you mean here...having problems assumes you are already being destroyed, so I don't see how your test changes anything.
Skills, macros, and addons help, but gear and class balance and design are a key factor as well. My friend and I went into arenas as a resto druid + ret pally against a disc priest + frost mage. We both had the skills and gear to compete, but because I had no way to prevent them from CCing him and we both had ways of preventing them from CCing me, they just CCed him and burned me - nothing we could do to prevent it. This was not an issue of skill, but simply class selection that ruined the match for us.
