You may need to right-click on the WoW icon and select "Run as administrator" to get the updates however. It took me a while to find that one out >_<

Yeah, Vista can run wow just fine. I used Vista for wow for a while now, never really had a problem with it, I just didn't like Vista... Ran Vista 32bit Ultimate for a while, upgraded to 64 bit, saw an increase in speed, but not worth it for some of the smaller things you can't run with it. What personally threw me over the edge with it was the fact I couldn't run Itunes for my Iphone with a 64bit OS. So I downgraded to XP Pro.
I still love 2k Pro, but I guess I just have to keep with the times =/

I have WoW run on a vista laptop and it works fine. You want at least a gig or two of ram if you want it to run well though.
With running Vista Aero you want at least 2gb of ram to run WoW, ram is not that expensive anymore and you will notice a difference. I just recently upgraded my friend from 1gb to 2gb and he went from 30 seconds to alt tab and constant lag in shat, to instant alt tab and very rare lag in shat.
The only problem I am currently away of with Vista and WoW is that if you use a USB headset or speakers and they happen to be unplugged while WoW is running you must restart WoW to get sound on them again. This isn't a major problem.. but can be fairly annoying. I do think someone said something about this being fixed in a upcoming patch though.
Long story short, WoW will run fine on vista, just make sure you have the latest video drivers. (Windows update should take care of this for you)

Ya, you can run WoW. I am running it on VISTA now. You will maybe have to repatch a couple of times because of errors but to save you a lot of hard time.
Yes, it does 100% work on VISTA.

since i switched from XP to Vista i've had no problems and fewer crashes so i guess some of it is based on luck

Vista runs WoW fine but as previously mentioned; getting the WoW updates can be a hassle. One thing I'd like to mention though is the graphics engine runs slightly slower on Vista and will perform better on a machine running XP.

if you want to get rid of the update hassle disable uac,
this is the feature wich asks for confimation for every fart you make, its annoying as hell, but usefull for some of the less knowledgable about the dangers of the web
disabling is done in the control panel at account settings

Some people have issues with Vista running WoW. I don't know what their problems are, because they usually just say, such as, "OMG don't get Vista!" Without even sharing the problem. Personally, I have had no issues with WoW running on Vista. I have home premium, I didn't have to do "Run as Admin" as some people claim they had to, and I've also hear things such as having to put the compatibility mode to Windows XP SP2 compatibility or something. All in all, simple answer, Vista runs WoW.
