I think it's worthless. If you get counterspelled, you can't cast fire spells for 7 seconds, so by the time it's up, you on;y have 3 secs left on burning determination.
Kick, pummel, and mind freeze are all 5 seconds, but all of those classes have other ways to interrupt you via gouge, or stuns of some kind.
So my stance on it is that the best way to make yourself immune to interrupts and silences is by casting your spells wisely, and good play.

You know, I find it funny that our Mage forum is primarily PVE and have very few PVP "expert" mages. And if we do have them, they don't really post much...
After all, we are class with very strong PVP potential.

I know Counterspell, Kick, Pummel, and Silence proc this .
Can anyone make a list of things that proc it? It'd be really great.
Though it does sound like this isn't the best talent.
all of those plus earth shock... anything with a knockback ability (like blast wave or thunderstorm) will NOT proc burning determination because it's an interruption via movement... not via actually interrupting your spells.

I created a Mage PvP thread the other day. it's not finished by any means, and i'm hardly a PvP expert, but it's a work in progress and I think there's a lot of potential to be had there.

PvPers have no souls.
That renders them mostly incapable of helpful/compassionate discussion unless it furthers their goals of self-promotion.
Some of them are incapable of formulating ideas.This. I need to keep my rating up. In all honesty though I did post some tricks against other classes in the PvP thread.
yes you did.. and your submissions are extremely appreciated..
NOW then.. i almost have the pvp guide completed. i just need a warlock strategy...

...True, it's not meant to give you a 100% opportunity to cast, but it can be a big advantage sometimes. In Arenas it'll usually be kept track of, but in BGs and Wintergrasp it often means one more killing blow.
I can honestly say I can't recall a time in any situation where it would have made a difference if I had Burning Determination.

I agree with strangerwifcandy.
I dont think it has made a difference at all. When a rogue uses imp. garrote, they have nothing else but kick, which you can be immune to at the time. But who casts a 3 second spell while in front of a rogue?
if the rogue has vanished or stealthed? :)

Things that proc it, by class:
DK
-Mind Freeze
-Strang
Druid
-Bash
-Maim
Hunter
-Silencing Shot
Paladin
-HOJ
Mage
-Counterspell
Warlock
-Spell Lock
Warrior
-Pummel
-Shield Bash
-Heroic Throw (/w Gag Order talent)
Shaman
-Earth Shock
-Wind Shock
Rogue
-Kick
-Deadly Throw (/w Throwing Specialization talent)
-Garrote
Priest
-Silence
It is worth to note, if you get silenced / interrupted you will gain the buff and further silences / interrupts will not affect you.
If the Interrupt effect does not interrupt the cast or you are immune to it
you will gain / refresh the buff anyway
This means:
LOL A SHAMAN HAHA I'M IMMUNE TO UR EARTHSHOCK SPAM
I got it in my PVP build. Surely helps

i pvp alot with my mage, and im going to be honest now, when bd procs it usually doesnt makea difference. Sure, 10 second immunity but if you spend the next 6 seconds feared or stunned or more often the case, dead, it has no bonus. I find that when i get silenced, i usually dont survive long enough to do anything. IMHO this talent would be better if it stayed as it is +fires blastwave/resets blastwave cd. This would give fire more survivability and bd a purpose other than as a main filler
burning determination has a GREAT usage when combating warlocks and priests.. if you trinket or IB out of the fear, that's at least 8 full seconds you can sit and nuke them without being silenced or feared again...
especially when you're fighting a lock with his felpup out, that can make all the difference in the world.
