When did you level your Tauren Warrior?
Keep in mind that old world factions received a significant rep bonus increase recently. All races will gain reputation with old world factions much faster than they did before the expansion or even initially after the expansion was released.

I am currently leveling a paladin and was Exalted with all five Alliance factions by 39. Now this is a human, but that should only give you about a level's advantage. On my gnome warlock, which I rolled in June of '06, I had to buy massive amounts of runecloth to hit Exalted with those same factions. With both characters I was obsessive about doing all the quests, so it's clear the rate of reputation gain has been massively increased.
