Blizzard's Rights to the Lore

It seems like the logical lore that's naturally come from Lord of the Clans and Warcraft 3 has been outvoted with "put the War back in Warcraft" fan sentiment, and Blizzard wants to please those fans.
There just doesn't seem room for me.
How do you think those of us who
liked
the evil Old Horde have felt, ever since Warcraft 3? Huh? Probably about the same as you do.I actually have thought about that, and figured that there's still lots of ways to be the bad guy... Be a warlock, PvP alot, Roleplay as a bad guy, etc.
But here's hoping we get three factions... Garrosh's merciless Horde, Varian's merciless Alliance, and the good guys with Malfurion, Thrall, Velen and the like.

Where's Highvoltage when you need 'im? I know he'd have an opinion here.
I r heer nao.
Well... I suppose so long it's more holes being filled than being created, I'll be on board with retcons. The Draenei retcon was good, so have been many of the others, with the fleshing out of the story and all. But I do think that they shouldn't do anything too drastic... it may be their universe, but forsaking the players and the original story that we all know and love would be a really bad move.
As far as Varian and Garrosh... I think I've said all I can on that matter in quite a few different posts.

I think they have rights to adapt the Lore and develop it, but not contradict it. Which if the Lore sources about Cataclysm are correct, there will be a lot of loopholes.

I actually have thought about that, and figured that there's still lots of ways to be the bad guy... Be a warlock, PvP alot, Roleplay as a bad guy, etc.The trouble with those options is that they're all focused on just your character. I'm saying I want a
faction
of bad guys, or a race that is predominantly bad guys, to belong to. (I don't really roleplay, per se, I'm mostly talking about doing quests/ experiencing a lengthy storyline within such a faction.)
The Death Knight starting experience is actually a semi-decent example of what I want, but fighting for the Scourge lasts for all of 3 measly levels before you rejoin your character's old faction.
But here's hoping we get three factions... Garrosh's merciless Horde, Varian's merciless Alliance, and the good guys with Malfurion, Thrall, Velen and the like. That would certainly be interesting, but it doesn't seem like it'll happen in WoW, given the way the whole game has always been structured around the two factions. Might happen in WoW 2 or Warcraft 4.
If it does happen, I can only hope that Garrosh's band starts up with the demon blood thing again. 'cause then it'll be party time.
