giving people who didn't raid fonr month because of real life/left the game for a while or any other reason a chance to gear up fast and join icecrown once it comes out is a good thing.
it's better for raiding guilds since they will still get good gear and progress, but if the need a new they can get one without having to run people at naxx, then ulduar endlessly just to gear them up.
This will be locked because it's an essentially pointless thread.
Baralin, don't get sucked into the complaining. Just suck it up and move on. What once was is no longer and only what is remains.
Domilera, that's a bad reason to do anything, but to that there can be only one answer
shrug

Grim I have an honest question for you, are you really this much of a jerk in RL or are u just nerd-raging?
I don't like listening to people whine about this anymore, to be frank.
Same whining that happened when SWP hit and they added Badge of Justice gear and Heroic MGT; it's just all so damn old hat, going around and around in a circle.
Actually SWP wasn't a big deal, because there were so many people that couldn't get into Sunwell but were raiding BT on a regular basis. Plus if you remember right Getting Sunwell Badges didn't get you gear for Sunwell it simply got you geared enough to do Mt. Hyjal and the raids underneath it.
Finally heroic MGT was a great instance. It required a ton of skill and it was most definitely a gear check. You could not do it unless you were really geared and new how to CC. Comparing Heroic MGT to any instance after or before it is ridiculously short sided. Plus if I remember the gear in there was some of the best trinkets out there, but the actual armor wasn't better than the stuff you would get raiding Gruul/ZA/Kara, in fact just running MGT would not get you geared for ZA/MT. Hyjal or any other end game raids. That is no longer true you can run strictly heroics and come out geared for Trial of the Crusader.

Eadric is a joke, Champions Joust is easy if you got a smart tank, and dps that can wait, but the aggro is rather odd.
Paletress if done wrong is a massive death waiting to happen. You are correct in that regard Grimn, but you can't compare it to MGT where people just didn't want to do it after they got their gear. They had to nerf two of the bosses and unconnect some of the chain pulls because they were too difficult and wiped out even really well geared groups.
MGT was the toughest 5 man instance since the days of pre BC BRD. It was something to behold it was basically a way to gauge if someone was ready to raid. ToTC is not anything compared to MGT.

Off topic abit, Aion is a terrible MMO compared to WoW. If youve been keeping up with the news on it, they arent giving US players the same content as Korean servers, we wont get the new level cap they do, and the new "raid" (in addition to the other one, considering the MMos focus is world PvP) being released is off limits to the new servers.
Ive played the betas since theyve been available and am very unimpressed. Much of the game is poorly translated, The graphics are very poor compared to WoW (You can completely customize your character, but in game are incapable of zooming in and seeing it or other's armor for that matter), and the quests are much more of a grind (there are absolutely no differences in the quests for leveling in either faction, and the zones are almost exact mirrors of the other's faction zones)
Ive played every current MMO out there, and WoW is by far one of the better ones, it has issues yes, but it appeals to many different MMO players, you can grind, craft, alt-a-mania, DPS, Tank, PvP (none of which really require you to devote more of your time in accomplishing) or whatever you choose that very few MMOs can compare to.
I myself am holding hopes for the new FFXI not sucking as hard as the last one, it was great till the developers screwed the economy and made it impossible to make enough money without devoting your life to the game.

yes but the difference there is that TotC is not the last raid in wotlk. If you get badge geared then you can go into naxx/ulduar/whatever, but i guarantee the gear won't be good enough for icecrown. You could most certainly raid kara/gruuls/mags on heroics and badge gear in BC. you could even go into ZA/MH/BT if it was FULL badge gear, just like now you can raid naxx/os/voa in heroics gear, and full badge gear will get you into uld/TotC. you'll need gear from those those to get into icecrown successfully, just like you needed MH/BT gear to get into SWP successfully.
it's the exact same thing that happened in the SWP patch for BC..

The graphics engine doesnt mean crap when the game is choppy as hell.
I have settings maxed on both WoW and Aion, and atleat WoW runs smoothely. Aion may look good in those pictures they post but ingame its completely different, The envioronment is still popup and very lackluster in both color and design, besides what good is desinging armor when theres no decent zoom function to even see anyone elses in game?
And just because it hasnt been released yet doesnt mean what they given out isnt a good picture of whats to come, theres no difference in either factions quests series or zones other than one faction's NPCs are much uglier than the other (I like looking evil and all, but can my face have less veins/scars/blemishes please?).
What sets me off most is how stingy they are to the newcoming US players and the content of the game. We dont get access to the Korean servers raids, or their level cap. 15$ a month and I want the same content as the next guy.
Sure some will hate it and others love it, but Ive played all the current MMO major titles and Aion isnt stacking very well.
If you like a grind (not a very long one which is nice) that leads to a just about a pure PvP MMO endgame then Aion will fit you well.
