[Blacksmithing] Why become an armorsmith?

I've got a lvl 38 protection warrior alt, on whom I'm enjoying leveling blacksmithing. I'm close to having the armorsmithing/weaponsmithing choice, but I'm not finding many armorsmithing items that I want. Truesilver items not longer requires armorsmithing, I found 1 pair of lvl 47 pants, and then it's a couple of lvl 65-70 items.
The weaponsmithing items are all level 40s, then the more specific weaponsmiths make items for lvl 65-70.
I need the advice of an experience blacksmith. Should I become an armorsmith? I love making my own armor sets, but researching what I can make as an armorsmith isn't impressing me. Am I missing something?

I don't mind the expense of leveling BSing, and mining trips are fun because I am still new to gathering profs as my main is a skinner/enchanter (I never went out of my way to gather leather... just what I killed while questing/traveling).
I don't plan on 25man raiding, although I may see some time in kara.
I like making matching sets of armor, such as the Green Iron and Brutal Iron sets. I'm trying to gather as much of the Scarlet Crusader set as I can... I'm a BS because I want to make armor sets that look cool. Do I need to be an
armorsmith
to accomplish this? (all I'm seeing in the recipes are 2 leggings and chestpieces lvl 65-70... is that all I'm missing out on if I go weaponsmithing?)

Considering with BS you can make BT quality items...
Weapon Smithing of course. Be more educated before speaking.
You can make
one
BT quality item, and then only if you upgrade your chestpiece or weapon to the third tier at horrendous expense.
Yes on another note, (if it hasn't already been mentioned) you can also create near BT one-handers as well with weaponsmithing. Armorsmithing = garbage IMHO.
if you consider it like that, there are 2 in armorsmith as well, a mail version, which will never see the light of day
if you use 2 handers, your one handers will never see use, and vice versa if you use 1 handers
the plate chest from armosmithing is a really nice armor due to the hit rating and sockets for generating threat for a warrior or to use as a DPS warrior/ ret paladin
