Pally tank (exceptional survivability + Lay on Hands for O-SH1T situtations)
Feral druid (off-tank if needed, 5% crit aura, excellent single target DPS, Innervate, Gift of the Wild)
Destro lock (omg DPS + no mana problems/downtime, summ stone inside instance for quick repairs or allies ganking meeting stone)
Elemental shammy (Bloodlust, totems, good DPS,could help with healing)
Holy Priest (best healer for dungeons IMO, instant AoE heal + Inner Focus/Divine Guardian for O-SH1T stuff, stamina buff)
my 2c...

3 paladins, the healer goes oom, lay on hands, the tank goes oom, lay on hands , the tanks about to die? Guess what? Lay on hands. running 3 paladins allows you to maximise the effective buffs and use their special abilities to full potential.
lol, pally faceroll XD

Respect. No i'm not kidding its not a faceroll when you use lay on hands to heal the tank/ healer. In pvp it is if you lay on hands when you've bubbled.

Tank: Prot Warrior
DPS1: Mage (Food is definitely a great advantage, and mages provide amazing DPS)
DPS2: Rogue (Pure melee DPS)
DPS3: Hybrid DPS of either an elemental Shaman, Enhancement shaman, or Retribution Paladin
Healer: Disc/Holy Priest
I should say that I really don't care if you switch mage for hunter or rogue for any other melee DPS. But I really enjoy the traditional pure breed classes for group composition. I include hybrids like Paladins or shamans as they can bring some structure and fill in some gaps.

I leveled my rogue with 4 RL friends running an instance every Friday night.
The Tank was a Tauren Warrior.( an alt who had a Pally Healadin, this was BC)
DPS # 1 was a Mage ( alt of Warlock raider)
Healz was a Undead Priest
DPS #2 was my rogue
DPS #3 was a Feral Druid
Probably not optimal on the buffs, but we had a great time and actually learned a
lot about groups, raiding, & CC. By the time we got to 70, BC was winding down,
so never raided. But when WOTLK came out, we ran dungeons as we leveled
and got into a raiding guild, and really had a easy adjustment to 25 man raids..
Of course Naxx was very easy, but have raid Ulduar and HTOC also...
This is great fun and a really good way to learn the game, plus the gear
is fun to have...
