People that think this board dosen't offer any help, have not read the guide thread, and the guides within, and this renders their grievances null.

Same reason any one acts like a jackass over the internet.

But in the end, yes you could say that I'm counting this one. Because in all honesty it doesn't offer any help, much like this board. :D
'My stupid idea was called stupid' =/= unhelpful board.
And I don't act like a jackass purely over the internet and purely because of anonymity. Someone comes in here, ignores all of the work that got put into the stickies and asks a really stupid question or asks for help with their terrible character, then we tell them 1) they should've read the stickies and that giant 'Read Before Posting!' should've been their first clue and 2) we wouldn't have to make fun of them for how terrible their character was if they did some research before vomiting all of their problems out onto a page. At this point the person gets defensive, tells us how we're all jerks and morons, despite them being the ones who flagrantly ignored the work we put in to help them with their question before they even asked it (which is a jerk move) and the fact that they are clearly the ones with no idea what they're doing. Someone more patient than I then comes along and politely points out why everything they're doing is wrong and the OP lashes out and says they're better and that the people trying to help them are all dumb. At this point 1) it's abundantly clear they are incapable of listening to reason or thought, based on their terrible character, terrible grammar, and bizarre confrontational attitude and 2) I have absolutely no reason to respect this person because they're a moron and to cover it up they act arrogant and call intelligent people morons. If I felt both of those things about a person in real life, I would be just as much a jerk to them as I am to the people here.

I don't think people have a right to complain about not getting information from this board. Because as you said we have plenty of guides (which as a side point, plenty are outdated... but I digress) and intelligent people who know their class.
My theory is that the paladin class attacts people with strong personalities, and because of that we get people who argue to the point of
this
and this
this
Where after about 2 pages of legitimate discussion the thread turns to a flame war basically there so people can beat their chests and go "NO I'M RIGHT NAB!"
In the end this isn't unique to our board, as it exists pretty much everywhere on the internet, but the purpose of this thread is to prehaps examine WHY we go to these extremes instead of simply ignoring idiotic behavior and comments.
Well I think this class is getting a surplus right now because of the ret paladin changes pre WotlK. People were getting wtfpwned by ret left and right. Rolled one, did raf, etc and those sort are likely to be a instant gratification type. Lets be realistic. Anyway they will come here and not read guide and get wise-guy remarks from me and others. Thus we in turn are bombarded with the top interweb meme of the month basically reducing us to 'internet tough guys', while secretly taking our advice because frankly its usually correct.
Also this game is aimed at a younger crowd. Damn kids and their music.
Ps. When people start tossing theorycraft out the door is when they get fully patronized. There is little reason for forums without the desire to improve. Theorycraft is THE tool for that.

The bottom line is the level of civility on this forum needs to improve. The paladin forum is by no means alone, but it is aggravating how frequently posts from here pop up on our Report docket.
