Yeah, I play survival spec hunter and I have to say I love it for PVP. I mainly just world PVP, lots of ganking fun and 80s from Tarren Mill vs. 80s from south shore games LOL. I have never given marks a serious try, atleast not within the last 3-4 big patches so I can't speak for Marks, but I've found that I really love Explosive shot way too much to ever go back to Arcane shot.
In my opinion, Explosive with the burst/burn damage is a more reliable killing shot in PVP then Arcane, and to top it off, Survival's critical percentages are just rediculous.
With my spec, the only class that really gives me much trouble is a Ret Pally. Their ability to stun lock is just retarded broken. On the reverse side of the spectrum, squishy classes go down fast for a Hunter from the burst damage we lay out. For Survival, you can generally stop a fleeing/engaged enemy with Wyvern sting. Then lay out Black Arrow, Serpent, Explosive shot and finish them with Aimed Shot/Kill Shot before they have time to respond. Downed tons of Mages and Rogues that way.
Anyway, that's all I can really say at the moment, can't think of too much else. Kiting as a Hunter is a simple concept, but it takes a long time to learn how to anticipate the way people will respond to your kiting and trapping. One thing I've learned that is very effective is circle kiting. Generally it's okay to kite a player back and forth in a straight/semi straight line across an area that you have frost trapped, however you take a risk by running in close to them, especially on jobs that have stunning or binding abilities that only work at close range. If you kite in a circle though, not only do you ensure that you're always covering ground where your frost trap is, about 75% of the time, the idiots will actually follow your circle path... ><. I couldn't belive this the first time I saw it, but yeah it totally works on most players. It's also generally effective on multiple players as well, so if you're stuck in a situation against two melee dpsers, try circle kiting.
Yeah, that's all I got for real this time, hope this helps someone.

I've yet to understand the point of ganking... I find it useless and stupid :/ The 'goal' of PvP, the 'fun' part at least, is to compete with another player, to try your skills against another's. To prove you're the best in short.
When you attack someone from the back, while he s fighting with 5 mobs, you just prove you're a coward afraid of fair confrontation, which isn't really what I relish being considered as....
Anyway, personnal point of view I suppose...
But the point of view of someone who likes ganking would indeed interest me (since I don't know anyone who likes doing it...)
ps : this is why I hate the rogue class :P

I enjoy ganking because in all honesty, I'm an ^&*!@#$. That's really the best I can say. I enjoy knowing that I had a hand in ruining someone else's fun for a night. To be honest, it wasn't always like this for me, but leveling up on a PVP server. Violence begets violence I suppose.
Yes it's true that when you attack someone from behind it's cowardly, but that doesn't stop anyone from doing it. So, when in France; they say. I can attest to gankers ruining many leveling nights for me, so it's enjoyable to give back to the community. All I can think of is that, If you don't know anyone who likes ganking, you must not play on a PVP server. (That or people are less !@#$%^-like on your server then mine.) Therefore all of my points probably won't help you much.
*Edit*
Also... Karlusdavius, you misquoted... GG.
Personally I hate the rogue class because it's fail in comparison to all other DDs. It's like Death Knight without the Awesome. Hows that for a quote?

"ganking" is when you go in a group. PKing is when it's just you...and both can be a blast.
It's the panic. Watching someone FLIP OUT when you first hit them and then running them down as they make their best efforts to get away. They used to release a fox for a dozen guys on horses with bloodhounds to run down and ppl is smrter then foxen.
I haven't done either too much recently, but that's the draw. I pk'd all through SP, DT, Merlin, Scorn and DeathWhisper and some here before BGs. It's fun to laugh at people when they are bad at running away and it's fun when someone amazing fight's back or eludes you.
It's best when they rally the troops against you, and you bring more yourself next time and then outright war breaks out, but that doesn't happen much in WoW. Outside of arenas WoW doesn't offer much for true pks, it's relegated to scrubs mostly since there's no material rewards.
That being said, WoW's structured pvp is really well done, no other games have really attempted much to challenge their arena and BG make up though. They do well enough balancing characters to make it attractive to me anyway. I've been subdued.

Indeed. Topping just about every DPS chart with their AoEs in PvE and in PvP still being about to take down just about any class 1v1 is so fail. Yeah... you must play with some Rogues I've never seen before. It's been a long time since I've seen a Rogue in the top 5 on DPS Meter, even in regular instances... >_>. To say a rogue can take down about any class in 1v1 is also not a true statement.
Most Rogues can't kill anything in plate unless it's under-leveled or under-geared. So, to amend your statement. Rogues do well, stealth ganking noobs in regular Azeroth areas... in all else they fail.
*edit*
Oh wait... I forgot to mention their ability to twink in level 19 BGs. KK that should cover about all their skills.
