Hello wowhead community. I am offtank for my guild and we currently have all of kara down except for nightbane. I was wondering if ardent defender was worth the 5 points? I usually dont stay under 35% health raiding so am i wasting my points?
Please let me know because i could really use those 5 points elsewhere lol.

if you're raiding, yes, it's the type of thing that may break or make your day
usually you don't need it, but when you do... you really need it
instances... not really

If you wish to tank in raids, it's a must have. Simply because of the fact that we got to get hit allot for most of our dps/tps.

errm no...
there was a similar discussion, where the conclusion is that most of our threat comes fro consecration and seal DPS..

It's impossible to be a complete avoidance tank, (miss, dodge, parry) as I predict it was all speculation, a pure avoidance tank will be a "invincible tank" If someone could become that using plate, pallies would be a last thought notion, and as for druids, I feel sorry for them. WoW's balance is to biased to not allow such a tank to exist and the fact that you'll still get hit and block them end-game makes it a necessary statement. You don't need to use block, or be hit to tank, but you need both to tank effectively. And besides, like I said, a warrior that could become "invincable" would be better then a pally "invincable", I hate to say that, but it's a fact, just make sure that warr has allot of rage pots.

well, i can tank without a shield for regular instances, wouldn't do that for heroics or raids, however, the notion was that "most" of the threat does not come from HS. It doesn't mean that HS threat is insignificant.
just a clear up of misinterperation, nothing big..

I'm not saying are main threat comes from it, but a decent amount of it in raids/heroics. besides, having that "burst" threat that randomly appears keeps those shadow preists alive...

then your tanking is a bit akward... you shouldn't need burst damage to keep aggro off shadow priests

yes, I've already stated that, not too shocking imo
