Hi all i am going for this build:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=oi0Vc0fzxIziZZVcrcooho
I was hoping to do a lot of damage in pvp and it does and in pve too, i know fire does more damage of all but i am a frost fan and got a good feeling about the arcane tree.
Now my question:
What do you guys think of my build ?
Any suggestions ?
Thanks.

I have used a very similar build on my mage for the last few months. I don't PVP, but raid regularly and am always number one on the damage meter (most mages in my guild are frost, we have a couple fire, but I am the only arcane). Spell rotation is usually:
Frost Bolt (For movement slowing effects in case I accidentally draw aggro.)
Arcane Blast
Arcane Blast
Arcane Blast (If I'm in mana conservation mode on raid bosses or long fights, I skip this last Arcane Blast)
Frost Bolt
Frost Bolt
As always, if Clearcasting kicks in, cancel your spell and cast Arcane Missles.
However, with patch 2.3.2, all mages will be able to train Ice Block and the Frost talent tree is getting a revamp, so keep that in mind. You also might want to look into Elemental Precision in the frost tree. It's pretty much a staple on most builds.
Ok thanks for the tip. i cleared Ice Block (obviously) because i can by the skill soon so i wont waste my points in there. and moved my talent to Elemntal Percision. just 1 but what the heck better than none.
looks like this now.

thanks a lot for your comment i'll try this and hope to kick ass.
using my trinkets and AP PoM i would rock in BG i think cause of high dps and perhaps on bosses too.

I think you should try it out.
However, my initial thought is that a full frost mage will pwn you as he has all the same frost skills and more considering his chance to crit you while frozen is higher, and his elemental will be able to freeze you again. If I were choosing an arena partner and I had you or the full frost mage to choose, I'd have to let you don't softly.
On the flip side in PVE, you are going to be able to put out damage, and in spikes you will see some large numbers. However, at the end of the raid, when the damage meter comes out, don't feel like you were not warned when you are not in the top 3-5 in damage. The fire mage is going to pass you when it comes to damage on a boss, as shatter and frostbite are worthless on a boss fight. If I was raid leader, and I had to choose between you and a deep fire mage for my last DPS spot, I'd again have to let you down gently.
I see what you are doing though. You really want to be great at PVE and PVP at the same time. It is ok, we all have this struggle, you are not alone.
:)
In the end, I think you should play the way you want, and have fun.
Give it a try, but like I said you will never be as effective as a mage that is dedicated to one or the other.....
:(
Thanks a lot an i'll try this build i am going to duel a hunter and frost mage soon and try it out (it depends on duel skill a lot too)
advice s always welcome if you have any suggestions, i am open for it !!
Still i think this is a great build for overall mage pwnage.

ok thanks, yes i know fire is better for pve but i like frost better than fire and like i said above the arcane tree brings a lot of extra damage for all trees thats why i put extra in the arcane tree.
Further my question was what you think of the build and if you have any advice about the build, i am not going to build up with other specs it will stay arcane frost.
thanks anyway for your reply

Ok, if you decide you like this build, I would keep the ice block for now. It is a vital PVP talent, and it is great for raiding as you can drop all hate instantly.
When the path comes out though I would drop the Iceblock, and invest the point in slow rather than elemental Precision. For pvp you will see how great this is for kiting or buying you some time before mele gets to you. Or you can slow a flag or any other runner considerably.
Are you planning on using arcane spells a lot? if not, I might take out the 2 extra points in Arcane focus, and put them in Magic Abs. (resistances help, plus it could give you mana if you resist) Magic Attun. (dampen magic helps you to take less magic damage if you are up against a magic dealer, I find the healers really don't heal me much anyway as I bandage etc and am low ont he heal priority list) or Arcane fort. (armor counts for something...then again you are cloth and will be hit hard regardless)
If you decide to run an arcane blast rotation, watch your mana, as you will spend it much faster than you anticipate. Also, gear is going to be important. If you decide that you are still in for this PVP/PVE spec, I would suggest 2 sets of armor. One for pvp with heavy stam/resil stats, and a PVE with more +dam/intel/crit
Just my opinion, but trying to use the same gear in this build is going to gimp you....
Good luck
:)
Thanks a lot for your oppinion, i'll try it out and i was already planning 2 gears for pvp and pve sorry about not mensioning it... my bad.
I got the final build up thanks to you and wil change the build after patch 2.3.2 comes out, just for 1 point.. what the heck...
it will look like this now
Before path 2.3.2
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=of0ic0fzxIziZZVcrcooho
After patch 2.3.2
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=of0ic0fzxIziZZVsrcooh
And i usualy depend on using my charc for the real work at lvl 70 and not at lvl 29 or something... build is important when you finish it.
PVE for now goes pretty good, i am not having a lot of trouble with beasts up to 4-6 lvls higher than me.
PVP haven't tried it yet because of gear and lvl ... (obviously)
when i reach lvl 70 and go in to my raiding guild it will be a matter of weeks before i will go into the BG and get my honner points.
Thanks all and if you have anything else i am always open for remarks what so ever.
