Shadow will become viable come 3.1 because of the new changes to meta. Its not a "TOP DPS ZOMG", but it performs fairly well and can be a breath of fresh air from all the incinerate spammage =P

Shadow's the best option for Meta builds even before 3.1, you need Emberstorm to make a fire build viable.

Meta / sbolt spam has nice dps even now. Actualy at some cases where burst is needed i think its more preferable.

For those 30 seconds you are dps god :D I had pulled 23k shadowbolt with meta spec!

Im not saying this is the best since your dps drops a lot for those non meta 2:30 minutes.

I have to agree with your comments on sarth 3D though - meta bomb can actually work ok there.

i still think that the most viable shadow spec beyond meta is 31/0/40, this is likely to improve a little with the coming patch but not nearly enough to make anyone want to use it.
