Any advice on Resto leveling?

Ok. So I've been out of WoW for a time now and I'm about to return, so I would like to know, how hard it is to level as a Resto Shaman? Can it be done? What's the fastest way for a Resto to level?
I know I could level as Ele or Enh, but I really want to level Resto; it's a preference thing. I won't really change my mind on that point. I'm just a very masochist - I have an Arcane Mage that has always been Arcane... even at level 16 - person.
While leveling Resto, what would you do? Kill one by one? Mobing? Meleeing? Thundering from afar?
What kind of route would you follow? What quests would you avoid? Which ones would you do?
Hope to get some answers (:

Wow... BGs give exp now? I haven't played in a looong time.
Also, any equip you recommend for me getting while leveling?
Pre-60, are Ele shamans good healers? Could a hybrid sort of work, just for leveling a pre-60 toon?

If you already have a high level, the best thing is to go elemental to 40 and then dual spec resto. That way you can heal in any dungeons and still do good damage when soloing. I leveled resto 1-30, but it was very very slow and many times I would run out of mana. I switched to enhancement and just leveled to Outland and switched back once I had a good set of spellpower mail. It is easier now because every shaman gets water shield at level 20 I think, but it would still be kind of slow.
Dual spec costs 1000g.
