I'm getting really frustrated with pvp. On Bloodlust, things are just f'd up. There is about a 7% chance of us actually winning a game (PUG) regardless of what BG is is, and as far as AV goes, it's hopeless.
Every time I start talking about it in chat, people start babbling about their little surefire ways to win, but the fact is that I see people our their running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
I feel like there is a strong "rich get richer" effect in place, both in terms of honor awarded, and in the sense that as the balance tips one way or another (in this case, towards the Horde) naturally better players who are new to the game or battlegroup may tend to roll Horde as well. With these two effects in place, Horde are basically winding up being better players with better gear.
It's gotten to the point where I hate being alliance, but that's what my friends to got me into the game were, so here I am after spending a night trying and failing to win a single damn EOTS in order to try to get a few measley honor points complaining about it.
I really just needed to vent, but I think a lot of people are starting to feel this way, and to me that seems to pose a problem for Blizzard. They are an entertainment company, and if their clients begin to have a bad time, that translates to loss of revinue.
bah.

It's really iffy on my Battlegroup as well (Nightfall) in regards to games, though it's nowhere near as bad as the OP's experiences. On my Battlegroup, we've basically had days where Horde goes all out and wins almost every game, and in turn the Alliance can come around and do the same thing -- it ultimately boils down to which Faction has their top PvP'ers AND best geared players out in force when people are queueing or not. I go with about 4 to 14 other geared players all the time for premades, and even with only 3 of us we can usually turn the tide of a BG with our coordinated efforts. You should go seek out the 'top' PvP'ers on your server to go get premades rolling, it might increase your chances of winning considerably.

But i dont think that all good players go horde
Of course not, nor was I trying to say that ALL good players go horde. If that were the case, alliance would be full of people saying, "the map is unfair", etc ;)
I simply think that there is a
tendency
towards people who are simply 'better' for whatever reason to roll Horde (
or it could be Alliance depending on your battlegroup... it's just a matter of 'rich-get-richer'
) because people who have a desire to play well (
and I won't bother going into defining what 'well' means in this context
) want to join the teams that wins, because that teams is likely full of other people who want to play well.
And you say better players who are new to the game...when normally "newer" players are the ones you want to avoid in your teams.
That's just untrue. Some people are simply better at this than others. I'm in a little family guild, and we have a few people in it that stuck around from the initial "I'll pay you to sign my charter" days. Some of these kids have been playing since long before I have, and have played much longer (
in terms of time played
) and yave yet to even ding 70. It's not that they're not taking the game seriously... it's just a martter of sucking at games. Some people do, some people pick up something like wow quickly.
My girlfriend was who got me into wow, and shortly after starting (
she rolled an alt to play along with me
) I recall her saying something along the lines of, "phew, I'm glad you don't suck". It's pretty easy to tell from the get-go; pulling agro all the time, getting lost, having to be explained everything twice, farming ore during a fight, etc... There really is a 'phew' or 'shucks' moment for everyone who plays when those around them may realize whether or not the 'get it'.
Lets face it though, pugs are horrid. You try to lead them and they curse. You try to ask for help they wander off. You have to find a good group of players if you really wanna enjoy a fun fought victory.
But that reinforces my point; we're playing against PUG's too. For some reason, preforms aren't very popular on bloodlust. I rarely see people forming them, and I'm rarely playing against one.
These horde kids are playing in just as a chaotic setting as we are, yet manage to work together to achieve the goals at hand more than ninety percent of the time.
Honestly though, blizz is doing a good job overall.
I can't disagree with you... this &^%'s amazing. I'm just saying that pvp is obviously becoming more popular, but I think there is a problem here that (
although I'm by no means claiming to have a solution
) could eventually disallusion some people.
