Cleansing diseases at last boss, yeah, I do that. Same as using MW5 stacks for chain heals on my enh shaman.
However, when talking about poisons - those are not worth cleansing. From what I remember, they pop back up before GCD from previous cleanse is over. Sure, utility, hybrid, whatnot. But I'm there to DPS, not spam cleanse.

Yes because clearly melee have a choice where the tank decides to tank them, and because they are clearly not targetted on top of people and you have to.... go figure move OUT of them AFTER taking damage from them.
Dont under complicate things blademeld, there are damaging aspects to fights that sometimes cannot be avoided. Yes dps shouldnt consistently stand in them but from the sound of your post your acting as though noone should ever take damage from them and that simply wont ever happen.
The tank should not be standing in the posion, if the tank does, then the tank has issues.
If the DPS are standing behind the mob and there is a puddle there, they should move out of it, if necessary, stack on top of the tank and DPS from there
I have tanked and DPS'ed on this fight and my sister heals, there has only been one case where the DPS failed to understand theat they had to move out of the poison, we kicked them and moved on.
When I DPS'ed and noticed I was taking considerable AoE damage from teh mage and the rogue, I moved out and healed, rogues, warriors and deathknights should wait for a healer to get to them or bandage them if they don't have the poison on them.
I am not undercomplicating this fight, rather, if you notice that your health is lower than it should be, as DPS you have an obligation to keep yourself alive to continue doing damage later.
And yes, this is not a poison you can avoid- it comes from the rogues Fan of Knives, not standing in the puddles.
My pardons, it seems I mistook the two abilities.
Regardless, it doesn't change what I said eariler, the DPS should move out of the AoE on their own and it isn't all up to the healer, the poison alone should not be able to kill the DPS.
This is how I see it:
Healer: Please cleanse the poison because I clearly can't keep up with the damage.
DPS: No, and I'm going to stand in the AoE so that I can do more DPS while putting more strain on the healer.

While that's cleared, I'm wondering,
If there are any other AoE than the rogue (which there probably will be), it's probably best to just move out of the AoE and cast a Holy Light instead of cleansing 3 stacks of poison in my opinion?
What do you think?

DnD? do you mean Desecration?

I'm sure he meant Desecration because there is no DnD I have seen.

I just heal through the poisons when ever I've had to heal it. Occasionally I've cleansed when it's at 3 and getting a bit messy, but most of the time I just heal through it.
In Uld10 Healing gear healing Uld10 geared guildies it's not that taxing.

I can speak as ret myself here, i always cleanse myself when i can.
I keep sacred shield up at aoe damage times, and when things are going crap, i pop bubble and divine sacrifice and trow some fol around.
Said that, i really hate cleansing damaging poison when i'm holy, i prefer just to heal trough.

Im not sure if its due to the players already been partially cleansed but ive never had to cleanse anyone more than once to remove poisons in HToC. If I could afford to spend 8 seconds casting hl's (and the mana) I probably would but as it stands that would put me out of the fight. I can however generally time cleases just before/after judgments which largely negate their effect on my mana pool..
They must have been partially cleansed, because Cleanse only removes one stack of the poison per cast. If it removed all of them, waiting until 3 and cleansing would be a very viable strategy.
Like I said, I keep the tank and healer and myself cleansed as I can, but trying to do nothing but keep all 5 group members poison free requires completely stopping DPS.
Every time since we've been successful, the healer has just muscled through it.
I find cleansing the Hammer of Justice when doing Eadric is far more important, or cleansing some of the DoTs from the Paeltres encounter. They don't hit everyone at once and stack, but they need to be cleansed asap.
::edit:: That said, we did one run where I switched to prot and kited Visceri away from the group, and it was no problem to keep myself healed and cleansed, he doesn't put out THAT much damage.

i do agree with that the ret should help cleance if he can, cause the main target is to stay alive and killing the boss and geting the loot... there for in the current set up that shown here if the ret was a bit helpful the boss could have been "one shoot" and not geting wipe.
from my expireance i can tell u that in ulduar 10 man when i am tanking steelbraker i am the one that cleance the fustion panch so the healers can only focuse on healing and keeping the raid group alive and ecording to my healers it is very helpful and it is what make us take him down in hard mode.
so again i do say if the ret can help he should cause a dead dps = 0 dps...
